Just a heads up to people thinking that this is just so easy.. You have to have a drone part 107 license to be able to sell any image or video captured with the drone. The regular drone license is just for recreational flying.. You need the commercial 107 part to be able to do anything involving MONEY with the drone.

yeah, and everything is up in the air with the mini 3 especially now that remote ID is in effect. apparently remote ID only works on the mini 3 if you purchase the bigger battery. you can still fly it unregistered with the normal battery which keeps the drone under 250g, but part 107 just got more complicated.

My realtor had something similar done for our house. She paid around $2500 for all internal and exterior photos and video. Dope process. The interior photographer made $1200ish in 1hr. The drone and AI imager made $1300 in 45min. Seriously considering going into this as a side gig.

Looks like as cheap as 300$ for aerial photos up to 1300 for full 3d package including indoor and outdoor and post-processing (much more than 1 hour of work). This is in so cal. Not sure where you are at and your realtor is paying nearly double. She may have just lied to you to appear as though she is investing more time/money(very common). Wow! That’s amazing!!! So say that’s 1-2 hours of getting the drone shots + getting the 360 video of inside and outside + let’s say 2 hours of editing. So my guesstimation would be 2-4 ish hours total making $500-$2500 depending. That works out to be about $125-$625 / hour. You do 4 clients a month that’s $2000-$10000 in a month. Then you double and do 8, that’s $4000-$2000 a month. Double and do 16 that’s $8000-$40000 a month. So yeah! Sounds like it could be really profitable once you have that influx of clients.
@Yourmomma5685 ай бұрын
It depends on your area and the company. 2500 might be reasonable on a house worth several hundred thousand. In my area, you can get all those from the same guy for about 800$. Many firms are offering packages for real estate that include all of those things for progressively lower prices.

This concept and your presentation, are great examples of freelance/gig work. The area I live in is booming with new houses and subdivision development, and a service like this could be very valuable to both the developer, and future owners. I am actually in a new subdivision in Middle TN and people move here from the north east, California, Illinois, etc. on a daily basis. I need to walk down the street (literally) and do this on one of the homes under construction, then I could walk in the model home and show the agents what can be done, and maybe they could pitch this to their clients that are building the homes? Great video honestly. I've been involved in a couple projects on my own. This is great but something of value you should add or cover, is where to find those new clients? After one project is done where do you find your next client? I was fortunate and have an inlaw who is a project manager, but to continue, it would be nice to know where.

Despite what some lazy and get rich quick cry babies have been posting, your information and content has been spot on and has been a huge help in me figuring out setting up, stream lining, and getting started with my own drone business. I’m not on board with helping foreign clients buy up American property, that’s already been devastating for both the US and Canada. However guess it depends on the circumstances, if it were someone in another state or someone who will be moving in themselves that would be more reasonable. Nice channel though and thanks for the tips.

As long as those property purchases are legal and lucrative they will happen whether we take the work or not. I have mixed feelings about some of the work I do but I recognize that refusing the work will not make any difference. To make a difference I think our effort is better spent telling policymakers that we don't like the policy. Honestly, I'm not confident that telling policymakers makes any difference either because they're looking out for things other than us. Still, refusing the work won't help 😞 I do admit that if somebody just feels better by turning down certain jobs, that is an important factor.

Hey hey! Just wondering how to approach new clients or rather how did you get paid when you didn't have a track record?
@stat112 ай бұрын
First rule in acquiring clients is building trust. Easiest way to build trust is to offer something valuable for free. Less cryptic version: Do it for free and offer it to several customers for an honest review? Really cool things start to happen after that. They may actually refer people to you. They themselves might see an ongoing need for that service. You get to start building your portfolio of actual real world application of your service than now you can leverage of social media, KZbin or Run Ads with. I always start simple. If you have a good product, give it away for free to valid that you think is good, others also think is good. After you validate, you promote and network, rinse and repeat.

Thanks for the video Dylan. One thing I noticed though, with the 360 video, is that behaves differently on a phone than it does on anything with a bigger screen. If you stay on the project website, the 360 vid is "fishbowl" and you have no control over the view. However, when you open it in KZbin, then the view is normal but the only way to change the perspective is by moving the phone around! I set up my own sample project site to show to prospective clients. I noticed this happening with the 360 vid and thought I had done something wrong until I went back and checked your project site. Not a show stopper and I haven't checked it on a larger "pro" phone either.

Great vid. As a netsuite consultant, I make 1000 usd per day. Mostly sitting in meeting rooms, being treated to the best foods and hotels. I travel in Business class. I heard that SAP consultants make 3x this amount. So I guess ERP/ CRM/ Bi consulting can make you very rich, very fast. It took me a diploma in Business management, 2 years as an auditor, 4 years as an accountant and 2 years working with a NetSuite consulting firm to get all I needed to be worth 1000 USD/day. But now I see electricians, plummers, painters earn half of what I earn (I'm 45) but with just a 3 month course. I guess govt. printed so much money, anyone can become rich doing almost anuthing than a 9 to 5 job.

The Virtual tour concept assumes that we can move around inside the building (photo or 3D) and stop the camera and rotate 360º.... but how is this achieved and with which Luma app? From what I see, Luma has two apps: one to convert a video into 3D but only for iphone 11 or higher and the Flythough app asks $10 for each model, that is, we have to pay to see an example. I would like if you could really explain to us what the end product customers pay $500 for, just for that aerial 3D model?

Fly through is their new app and is honestly pretty cool. And yes the end product is what you see on that website

@joel9662 Жыл бұрын
@dylangorman just to confirm, the 3D walk throguh is prepared using your gopro software that came with the camera, not another software. Luma AI did not like my interior photos ;). It also did not like my test capture of a cell tower, too many gaps in the lattice structure. I think I have work around to take more higher angle shots which shows lattice gaps against ground vice the sky. TIA

Very interesting, so I could use my DJI Mavic 2 Pro for something like this. On the 3D view of the building is the only option to have a link or can you export an OBJ file as well for use in other programs? For your Pictures/Videos are you using Auto settings or are you shooting in D-Log and post editing the colors?
@callumthrow11 ай бұрын
It looked like he was using auto from the DJI app screen. I'd say to keep costs low (from experience) auto is best otherwise you need to charge a few hours for editing.
