Excellent video. I'm upgrading soon from s1000...this is exactly what I wanted to hear. Looking forward to episode 2! Great job.

@@antdx316 We offer drone instruction and training all across the country. See the rest of our videos on our channel to get a really good grasp on what we do. We mainly deal with the DJI line and more specifically all newer DJI aircraft. The M600 is more for heavier payload requirements which is not often needed.

What was your altitude where you did these tests. I live in Utah at about 5,000 feet. I have flown at 11,000 feet. And I have flown at 2,000 feet. There are some huge differences in flight time based on the density altitude. I want to try this again now that it is winter. Should get more flight time.

Does the ALTA 8 fix any of the of the ALTA 6 issues? I'm getting the impression that DJI is abandoning this form factor so I'm curious where freeflys products stand now. Unfortunately there aren't any decent reviews

For the Record, these are NOT the two biggest 'pro-line' drones on the market, I know because we own them, we also own the AERIGON and have used the SHOTOVER Drone which are the two biggest Camera Drones on the market.

I would have to disagree with you. Also keep in mind these videos were made 2016 and technology has changed. Even so, I rank the M600 with RTK up there with the best of anything.

It's customary to declare whether or not you were compensated, provided product or are a dealer for either supplier when doing such a comparison video. Did the Movi you used in the evaluation have the Akira update? If so I am very surprised as it improved the performance significantly. Even then, the new Movi Pro has made it (and the Ronin MX) both somewhat obsolete in regards to performance. It allows changing RED camera settings in flight which is what most heavy lifters fly. In the large camera gimbal arena, DJI, a billion dollar company, continues to follow the lead of Freefly, a company worth only a few million. The main problem with doing these types of comparisons is that as soon as the next version comes out, the prior results are ancient history. One vendor leap frogs the other depending on timing and this technology is moving crazy fast right now. I think you made an issue of many things that, in day to day operation, mean almost nothing, such as - Everyone I know simply wedges a blade holder between the Alta frame and gimbal during start up. Takes 2 seconds with the big payback of not having to deal with the added weight/mechanism of retracts. Why do you make it sound like a big deal to arm the Alta every time you fly? Again, only takes a moment. If someone flys a heavy lifter with a RED or ARRI camera and can't land in manual or flip a switch upon landing, that is more than a little concerning. I agree the GO app is helpful when it works and something Freefly needs to emulate along with Lightbridge. It's really about the only thing I think is seriously lacking. I think there may be something wrong with the Alta or the settings you used. We have two and neither one has the issues you describe with stability. The control is insanely precise. We fly our Alta's almost daily and they have been ultra reliable and a joy to fly. When we have had to send them back to Freefly for updates, the turnaround has been very fast. Customer service has been excellent also. There were even more things I disagreed with on the second video but I admit I am tired of typing. Thanks for taking the time to do this as I know it takes some effort. Even though I disagree with your process and many of your ratings.

In no way shape or form was I compensated by anyone. I had both drones and the time to do it. I had Akira version 1 on my Movi, and both of the submitted MOVI clips the owners also had Akira. There was nothing wrong with my Alta, it was at Freefly 2 weeks before, and 3 of my collegues also experience the same issues.
@BlackyKerr8 жыл бұрын
perfectperspectives I agree with you here. Some of the things they deducted points for were things that aren't a big deal at all, such as the arming/disarming, making sure the Alta doesn't spin when initializing, etc. They also talk about ease of use as far as adjusting camera settings. You can only do that with the M600 when flying the Zenmuse camera, which doesn't make sense to me cause wouldn't it be easier to just fly that camera on the Inspire? I fly the Alta 6 as well and love it. We use the Movi M15 on ours so it's a little heavier setup when flying the Red or Alexa.

RobAlso:I can change settings in the air with the Ronin MX using the air commander module. It will take pictures, record, change ISO and exposure compensation. Some people think the things the small things are a big deal, especially the ones that can cause a crash. People have crashed their expensive Alta because the Alta was spinning when initializing.
@TheTechnoPilot7 жыл бұрын
Steel City Drones - As a commercial pilot, I feel like these items are minimal issues when you consider the position of this airframe in the market, as it is a simply thing to avoid and should never be a problem for an operator of such an aircraft. Also something you didn't mention which is HUGE to me as a pilot in terms of flight performance is the manual flight mode. The fact that the DJI lacks the ability to fly the aircraft with manual control of the throttle is a huge loss to me as a pilot and someone who has grown up operating far more complex single rotor platforms and also flys custom built multirotor platforms. While perhaps the M600’s ability to land in Altitude mode can be useful at times, I'd trade manual flight mode for it any day!

We clearly were as unbiased as possible but the results significantly favored the M600. Our test parameters show that. We tested the M600 with the stock GPS as well as RTK. As we mention in the video the RTK primarily improves vertical height hold. I am not sure what you mean by balancing shaft.

lol i must have meant the RTK.. wery good uppload, so if i understand it right,if you have more like this dji having 1GPS and 2 RTK it gets more stable, by the way,,what does RTK means.
