As you go darker with the filters are you increasing the shutter speed to compensate for the amount of light getting into the lense ? ,
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 жыл бұрын
Michael, it is the opposite. The entire reason you use ND filters is to slow the shutter speed. This removes Props from the frame and smooths out the video.

Were you in auto mode for white balance, ISO and shutter speed when doing all of the tests with various filters on? It would be interesting to see what effect the ND filters would have had on shutter speed, etc on a cloudy day.
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 жыл бұрын
Tom Gilmore The ND filters pretty much cut the shutter speed in half or more. White Balance was a challenge due to the sun and cloud.

Hi Captain is there anyway you can please reply with the camera configuration you used for filming? I am having a really hard time here trying to get decent footage in similar weather conditions when flying. Was this in manual or automatic? Shutter speed? Frame rate? EV? Thanks,
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 жыл бұрын
This video was entirely shot in AUTO settings due to the changing lighting conditions. There was no post production video processing or coloring, the video is straight out of the camera. The filters ND and Polarized helped of course.
@chillimocha6 жыл бұрын
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Interesting....thanks for letting me know. I have been trying to nail filming on overcast days using white balance set to Cloudy and all other settings on manual, and the results have been disappointing. Washed out colours and the sky just a bright white with no detail. Next time in these conditions will be trying it in auto to see how we go.
@sh00t016 жыл бұрын
chillimocha I always set exposure compensation to -0.7 or -1. There’s a chance you’re recording in D-cinelike mode so the image gets dull. Put an eye on style as well: sharpness, contrast and saturation. Good luck

@ASangueD6 жыл бұрын
Are you using auto video settings? I’ve found that using ND filters with auto settings can trigger a slower shutter speed and a more open aperture to allow more light through the filter. Occasionally, this has caused a loss of clarity outside the main focal point and motion blurriness . Thanks. Freewell Gear.
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 жыл бұрын
Yup, motion blurriness is what you are after with ND Filters. The motion blur will be along the bottom of the image when flying forward or backwards. If you pan too fast, then the entire image will blur. The ISO was on 100 and the exposure was left to its own along with the shutter speed which became slower as darker filters were added.

@kohle656 жыл бұрын
nd filter shouldnt change the image, only the shutter speed. Polarized filters change descent the color of water, sky... The weather and light conditions seems to be changing from time to time in the video. For me it would be nice to see the values of the shutter speed and the aperture for each filter, because of the fix iso 100.

Hello You are or exactly in Quebec, very beautiful video with its autumn colors ??? I just bought the pro 2 super drone, but I'm going to buy some filters, because I did some video shooting in full sun and often I have the image moving towards the propellers, when the camera and in the sun field, it fucks everything in the area my video.

Hey Captain Drone and the drone followers on this channel. I took my Mavic 2 Zoom out flying, and when it returned after 15 mins, the battery was swollen, (sticking out of the drone). I purchased this drone November 2018 and I wrote DJI on the subject. They told me that the battery is out of the warranty period however, I never overcharged the batteries and I follow the battery care from DJI. Anyone had that experience before? Do any have an idea what may have caused it? the only thing i did different on that day is using an ipad 10.5 for the first time and I was also recording in 4K @ 30fps. Any help into the cause would help with the new battery when I get one.
@CAPTAINDRONE7985 жыл бұрын
Lipo batteries will swell after a few years of use. They also swell if they are suddenly drained of power quicker than they can handle, or if they were fully charged and not used for a long time, or they were dropped or over charged. I had a few Mavic Pro batteries that began to swell after two years of use.

I used to review Polar Pro as well as many other brands, but then soon realized, the glass is all the same. The difference is in the build quality and the number of coatings on the glass so that the oils on your fingers don't cause it to remove. Freewell filters have an outstanding build quality, so I kinda like them. But, a filter is a filter, so pick whichever brand you find.... except the super low cost brands like Neewer (those are crap).

Not knocking DJI cause I love them....but after a few reviews I have seen on the Zino 2 with Interchangeable gimble camera...I was thinking.....could DJI do this....so we can have the advantages of the Mavic 2 Zoom on our Mavic 2..."? did you have a video on how to install or remove the filter from the gimbal?
@CAPTAINDRONE7986 жыл бұрын
For the Zoom, no video. The reason is because the Zoom allows you to just screw on the filter so no demonstration required. The only thing to note is that you have to power off the Zoom, place it on its back, then unscrew the lens and put on a filter, then flip it over and power it back up.
