In this review we will closely inspect the new V2 (version 2) Stealth props by Master Airscrew, specially designed for DJI Mavic Air.
The main benefits of these props:
- 100% compatible
- reducing the noise by 3.5db
- increasing the flight time by 14%
- eliminating the "motor current error" that was often visible with the first generation
Whether these values are correct or not - you will see in the video. For any comments or ideas - reach out to me using the comments section below the video.

Even if it SEEMS like sports mode should drain the battery faster than normal mode, doing an experiment with different modes does not make the result conclusive at all. There may be many factors you're not thinking of why sports mode may burn less battery. None that I can think of to be fair, but it's still not how you do an experiment. Maybe the higher tilt of sport mode drains less battery based only on the wind deflection... maybe the drone recognizes the higher pitched props better in sports mode which may have something to do with it. I'm not saying these things are causes or would even make a difference, Im just saying that using different modes for an experiment is not right. Those were just some possible reasons why. Maybe there are many reasons, maybe none.

One thing. I fly pretty rough and tend to bump and crash more than most drone users, and i've found the stock propellers are a lot more robust. more scraping, abrasion, and notches, while the masterairscrew props get big chips. probably due to material choice, maybe the MAS prop material is lighter, and takes a smoother lower drag finish.

Am I seeing this right when you inserted the prop? Do DJI mavic props have a reverse rotation? Spinning into the sides and not into the front and back? I wonder why that is. Or did i see it wrong? Or can you change it like in a quad? Edit: i think I saw it wrong.

Today the Stealth Props were delivered, first I did a db-Meter-Test with the original propellers, result: 90 db (2 m distance, indoor), then with the "Master Airscrew Stealth Props". Result 90 (!) db (same distance, same place). Only the pitch was a bit lower. Very disappointing! By the way, I adjusted the gain values of the stealth props correctly before the change!

Let's talk about pitch. The M1 Abrams has been criticized for being louder than most other tanks, because it uses a gas-turbine engine, yet this criticism has been rebutted... The Gas Turbine engine produces a very high pitched noise, which does not carry as well as the lower pitched sound from a diesel engine. This means that while the gas turbine is louder at, say, 10 feet, it's almost silent at, say, 200ft, while you can still hear the diesel engine. Lowering the pitch of the sound the drone makes by using different propellers, while it may get a marginal (though very small) decrease in sound volume while right next to the drone, will actually make the drone louder when it is in its element, at a long distance away, as the lower pitched sound will carry further through the air. Tl:DR, this product works off of faulty principles and is not worthwhile. This is probably why OP only shows a video (with sound) of the drone flying with the original propellers.

I don’t see how people are saying they don’t hear a difference or say that it sounds like a higher pitch. The pitch is noticeably lower, quieter, and less aggravating all around.

Its obviously lower on all videos running MAS for mavic air. I am waiting for these set as I fly my Mavic Air from balcony and I dont want neighbors to get on my case because of drone noise.

You will enjoy them. It’s just as drastic in person. We went to visit my mother in the country this weekend and I had some good flights out there. One time when coming back from a long trip out I was directly overhead before I realized it. Usually I can hear when I start getting close even when almost 400 feet up but with these prop not so much.

Tech4All : Hello Michael ! Fantastic video on the DJI Mavic Air , with the new revised edition of Master Airscrew Stealth Props (v2) review and testing of the prop blades (blue) …..!!! ))) Honestly when the DJI Mavic was approaching you in the video , it sounded like a mighty angry swarm of Hornets !!! lol The name of the game is steady flight time , in order to take those beautiful 32MP photos.... with vibrating noise at minimal decibel levels ! Over time one's hearing may finally become accustomed...….. to being bombarded by the swarm of angry Hornets sound..... to appreciate the finer properties of the MAS Stealth Props ! Thanks Scarboro
@TechMishka
@TechMishka 5 жыл бұрын
Few weeks ago, we were riding bike in the mountain. and it was the first time in my life when I heard how hswarm of Hornets sounds. It was scary!!!! On the funny side - I think the MA props sound more like the Hornets when they are far from you, but when they come closer - it sounds like the DJI original props. We were luckily not attacked and quietly moved on. There was also a poisonous snake on the way - a few kilometers before that. What a ride was that! 🙃

I disagree about the noise level. I think what they do is change the tone of the Pitch you're hearing. I am severely hearing impaired. Hearing Aids are a everyday part of my life. I hear a difference in the tone in no way do I hear a reduction in volume. They are much better because of the change but still almost as loud. Flight time is better, I can fly in regular mode for about 18 mins before hearing low battery warnings. My battery level starts chripping at 25% so I go a little longer and have not had a problem getting my Air back to me. I do like Master Airscrew and have been flying them since I had my 3DR Solo. I've used them with my Phantom before I sold it and never had any problems with them.
@TechMishka
@TechMishka 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Harry - interesting take on these props; Most likely the pitch change is the main reason why there's the db-change in favor of the MA props. Fact is that they are less annoying than the originals; And hopefully DJI will think of releasing something on their own.
