I have to endorse this post. I have confirmed what he is saying is true. I've had countless frustrating disconnects or unable to connect and it was just infuriating, especially when your just trying to complete a job. I bought the cable he states in this post and I have not a single disconnect in over 2 dozen flights! THANK GOD, FINALLY!

Great post Timothy, I am a HUGE fan of Anker as well. I switched over to exclusively all Anker cables for everything/everywhere. Awesome quality and great customer service. Out of 8 cables I had 1 go bad about a year ago. I called Anker to test out their warranty, no questions, no judgment, didn't have to send the cable back in. Just bam, "sorry to hear that, we will ship a replacement out today". I can't say enough praise about this company.

My mother hammers lightning cables. She broke 3 of the old anker indestructible cable. Now we have the newest indestructible one and she's about to break it LOL. They swap out no issues at all. Just call them up and they send a label and a new one. They even refunded me on the OG one to get the newest one they had after mine was in the mail to them. GREAT CS!

hi ya i bought and got the anker nice thanx for the info but im still get the issue of part of the screen going black,its doing my heads in as i re downloaded the app seemed be ok the i got it out once the anker came and it went black at the bottom part of the video any ideas?

I don't think so Tim. Iv'e been using the exact same cable for several month and constantly have Video telemetry loss and son fly no further than 2300 feet ither wise it tells me the signal is too weak, This is with direct line of sight and many different locations,

Fantastic , well done ! Mine had the same problem from the beginning,lost signal and crashed .DJI kindly repaired the Drone ,but didn’t replace the cable , even new cables of the same design have the same issue , but this is a fix .

I took your advice and bought the cable however I was flying yet again this evening and I lost connection on both flights. Had to hit the return to home feature, power down and then power back up again and I lost my connection midflight. Any further suggestions?

Not having that problem with my Mavic and have been using a Anker cord in that manner since I got my Mavic Pro but I wonder how to fix the problem of disconnecting on a Phantom 3 Standard that does not use a cord at all. ???

Hi everyone,I need an answer,I have a dji mavic pro and obviously the dji go 4 app. Is a couple of days that I see during the flight,after 5-8 min, the remote icon (where is the signal power of the remote on the app) flashing. (the same icon on the remote is fix) just the remote icon,not the 5 power lines. I never lost the signal,just some small lag,but I always control the mavic also during the flashing,I dont have any advice on the app,it work normally,but I dont understund why is flashing. if someone have an answer,thx

Hello! New to the drone world. I love my mavic pro but I am have that signal loss problem. I have a usb cable but when I use the usb connection on tha bottom of the remote it only wants to charge. Will not connect to the dji app. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the ignorance.

Weak signal and loss of signal is different from disconnect. I actually got the disconnect and called DJI and found out about using my iPhone charging cable in the USB port of the remote. The otg port worked fine for for me for the first year almost and than it started to have issues and than not work at all. So now I use my iPhone cable. I will order this one you suggested though it looks better than the iPhone cable. But my other issue is when I charge the remote is use the side port and only have one cable that will work to charge the remote. I'm worried eventually that will stop working. Is there any other way to charge the remote? Thanks for any suggestion you may have!

I had pocket lint in the lighting port on my phone and once I cleaned it out it fixed my issue with the original cable. Thanks for sharing your video

But I read that the micro, side plug... tansfers data much faster that using the bottom usb plug? Have you heard this? Your link to Lightning Cable says it is not a data cable, it is only used for charging?

Ok GREAT Information thank you. Now, if someone can please tell me why my rc signal is so low sometimes. It will disconnect every once in awhile, and it's usually lower signal than my video. Is this just occusync? Or is there a problem. I know the rc signal is Carried with the video feed, so I'm baffled. Just need to know if it's alright.

Timothy! Question please sir....but first, glad I ran into you channel. I have a good amount of interference when using my 1st generation ipad air and flying my phantom 4 pro..It gets all pixelated, sometimes will turn black for a split second. I'm using just a plain ipad cord. Would switching to a better quality cord help, or is there some setting thats causing this to happen. When I fly my Mavic pro with my 2nd generation mini ipad, I have zero issues. Would an Anker brand cord be a good place to start? Many thanks, man

Yes can confirm too its the cable. Got lost of signal with the drone right in front of me so no transmission issue. For now I replaced with an Apple cable but I will go for a shorter right angle connection. From my observations I would suspect its not the cable but the USB connector at the remote.

Does this also fix the range problem when I fly my Mavic around 400 meters away it always looses connection my altitude is around 80 meters high. Whatever direction I always a loose connection at 400 meters

Hey buddy, I suggest u angle your antennas at 45degree angles and try using Ann iPad mini or an iphone, I noticed using my iPad, fantastic communication, android not so grand

It worked for me. After countless firmware updates and inconsistent errors £6 cable solved the problem. Got one with 90deg crank on the USB c end so it fits within the controller arm

Ive never used the little side cable. Only used the usb bottom cable and never had any problems. My hand just adjusted to the caable side stickout on the control.

Thanks for this video! I've had my Mavic for a few months, but have only had the chance to fly it 3 times... Today, it was "In line of sight", but way out of MY sight, distance-wise, (And old eyes..) when I lost the connection between controller and Droid-phone. FREAKED out for a sec... Thankfully, there's the RTH button on the controller too!! As some others here did, I ordered a couple right-angle cables off the "Big A" as soon as I got home.Another thing I found, the little rubber grips on the inside of the legs that hold the phone to the controller, they seem to keep the plug from pushing all the way into my Samsung Note 4... I trimmed 2 of them down with a razor blade, so they don't block the plug jack anymore.

Great tip, and for all mavic pro users do not upgrade higher then GO version 4.1.22, it's the most stable one!!! and you have still everything.

I just put an order in for 2 of them...On the disconnect issue...I always use the bottom of the controller with my cable and have had an issue or two even though it was on the bottom connection....but I love a shorter cable...Hard to find a 1 foot USB cable in Best Buy....

Mine was broken out of the box - very annoying. I emailed DJI hoping it would be straight forward and they asked for a video documenting the problem and photos and all kinds of stupid stuff. I've just been using my normal charger iPhone cable for the time being which looks a mess. This may be the solution!

I encountered a scary situation this day during the flight because of the loss of communication between the controller and the Mavic Pro, there was a complete stop and loss of connection, it is very disturbing indeed, this warning appeared on the mobile screen (Strong remote control interference). Then the connection loss occurred abruptly. This is the first time you speak with Mavic Pro. This is very worrying. What do you think, friend, about this problem through your field experiences? Cables can help if that's the problem and if the usb port on the phone itself isn't shit. I think I may be having that issue due to the port.
