There is talk that when using Bluetooth, the digital sampling rate is slashed from 48k to down to only 16k. That would mean that any audio frequencies about 8k are cut off. When switching back to 2.4ghz transmission, the sampling rate jumps back to 48k. Have you heard this yet?

This is true as in the audio quality drops to phone call quality when connecting directly to smartphones via bluetooth, same as the Dji Mic 2 - until we get a new bluetooth standard for high quality audio and codec and better compression on device before transmitting to receiver BT mics without receivers is not an option unfortunately :/

The new Mic Mini sounds great. It's very compact and light, and priced for content creators on a budget. Great review Ken, and thanks for sharing.

haha, he's counting to 5 the same odd way I do, I mean the pinky before the ring finger. It's pretty rare that's why I immediately noticed it. FYI I do it because my ring finger and pinky are kinda fused togehter at the lowest joint level or something, idk exactly

Seems like a bit of a miss to not show the mini mic without the wind muff when comparing size to the other 2 mics which don't have the wind muff attached.

Great video. Just a question, to use with the Action 4, which one do you recommend between the mic 2 only transmitter and the mic mini receiver + transmitter? They are almost the same price in the configuration we are talking and we are interested. We would use mostly for some ambient sound for the video tour on our channel. Thanks 😊

For the receiver size does indeed matter. The Røde Wireless Micro receiver is much smaller and streamlined connected to a phone. If they needed this size they should just had gone with the Mic 2 receiver and the new smaller transmitters. Unfortunately this combination is not possible.

In need of help I’m looking to use mini mic and receiver but only for audio not video. I need to do hours worth of recording. How can I do this on iPhone without using the camera??

The audio is transmitted to the receiver which adds the audio to your video. The dji mic 2 does the same, but also offers internal backup recording as a backup (unless connected via bluetooth, then backup recordings on mic is disabled).

A huge disappointment. In every review I've seen the audio is nowhere as good as its direct rivals (Rode Micro, Godox Cube, Lark M2). Definitely need a direct comparison.
