Fantastic video, showed exactly the repair steps necessary. In my case, the black hub/hinge was not cracked, so it did not require replacement. Also, the round cap was included with the replacement arm, so it was not necessary to pry the cap off the old arm. A spudger used for cracking smartphone cases was useful in unsnapping the top from bottom shell. Oh, and I did not drop the screw.

Thanks so much for this, clear, simple and straight to the point. You saved me an upgrade for another while. I managed to put a slight break in the middle of the cover when removing so I'd recommend that while a good bit of force is nessessary just take your time folks.

Thank you. It was better than somebody doing it and with the music in the background I had an easy fix. I just had to take the leg off of the black thing and then I screwed the black thing back into the DJI then I put the leg back on the black thing and it worked. Glad I didn't have to solder

I repaired a broken arm on my mini 2. thanks for the helpful video. I did the soldering myself but I did not take your advice on having a good soldering device. I used a cheap one that cost me $15, the temp on the tip got very hot and the metal wire solder exploded all over the components. I got lucky, it worked, but I was not confident in my work. Thanks!

Thanks for this. I just crashed my DJI mini 2 into a brick exterior wall of a building today while landing (meant to fly away from the building, not into it) and it fell about 16 feet onto concrete. Fortunately all it did was make a tiny dent in the metal ring the props mount to that rotates around the armature. That tiny little dent was enough to make it rub slightly against the armature so that motor can't rotate. Thanks to your video I am confident I can replace the left rear arm and be in the air again. I have done a lot of fairly intricate soldering on electric guitars so I should be able to handle this.

I screwed the joint screw back normal and it does hold... for now will i have to buy a new body to fix the stripped screw hole?

Once again big thanks for your awesome video! I finished the repair, and after nearly a year out of action my drone was back up and flying!!! :) However one issue is that one of my 3 batteries seems faulty now. Not sure if it's from the original fall. It looks fine but all 4 charging lights flash 3 times. The internet suggests that it could be as it was sitting in storage unused for near a year. Have you seen this and do you know if there is any chance of it coming good/fixing it? Even if I'm down a battery, the fact the drone works is what's most important.

Chris, do you ever touch a bit of solder to the bare wires before mating to the board to avoid any gaps or cold joints?
@QCGUY
@QCGUY Жыл бұрын
On new wire you should always coat with solder. These come with solder on the tips of the wire already and I had plenty on my board still. A cold joint would be from a poor quality or low heat soldering iron.

Fantastic video! I will be attempting the same on a rear arm so this video will be super useful. Q: on one of the front arms of mine the motor doesn't have that subtle click when it's spun around manually by hand like the rest do. It's also ever so slightly angled when spinning, I can see by the gap to the arm which slightly shrinks and then widens while spinning. Have you seen a motor function like this and is it likely broken too? I was planning on replacing the rear one and then turning it on to see if the front one works (and hopegully all the rest) but curious if you have any thoughts on this. Thanks!
@QCGUY
@QCGUY Жыл бұрын
I can't say without seeing it first hand but if you have a concern with it I would just change it out while you have it apart versus doing this all over again. Parts are fairly cheap so it may be smarter to just replace it. It would suck to have repaired one arm and then watch it fall from the sky due to the other arm.

I have a video for that I haven’t uploaded yet but you remove the two screws inside the battery bay then pop the belly off to get two where the gray antenna wire connects. It just slides through a whole down the side of the drone from the top to the underside.

So the motors are the same in every leg? I have stiff LF- motor and no motor or left front arm assembly available where i get my parts in this side of the world. I've been contemplating if i'd just get any other arm assy and would the motor be suitable to the LF. (some sort of clearance issue in the motor itself. In below freezing temps it drops from the sky because the motor gets stuck. In warmer weather it's just stiff but works)
