I use my DJI Phantom 4 Pro with the standard version of Agisoft Metashape to create 3D models and they are fantastic. The $200 I payed for Metashape is well worth the money.

Thanks for the great introductory video and for showcasing easy to use open source software! My first try gave remarkable results, though I'm having difficulty getting trees to show up in the 3d space (I tried mapping a local park). Do you have any suggestions for that? (As shown in one of your other videos I took shots at a -45 degree and -90 degree angle and did several grid passes along x, y and diagonal axes. Thanks a lot for your help and greetings from NL, Jos

Glad it helped! Regarding the trees I understand is very tricky specially with this tiny drone. I tried avoiding trees as the buildings are much easier to model. Hope it helps.

hello, do you know how to make a 3d model power pole(electric power tower) how to best capture photos with drone? i have dji mavic pro and want to make 3d model, i use agisoft metashape but 3d model look bloore, not clean..

There is significant difference between these two drones. The DJI Mavic Pro is used for mapping and photogrammetry being able to use 3rd party softwares like dronedeploy for automatic flights and the DJI Mini 2 is more used for photography and videos. Obviously you saw in my tutorials you can use the DJI Mini 2 for photogrammetry as well but it's all manual so it takes a bit of practice and patience to achieve a good result. Now as a owner of DJI Mini 2 I recommend you buying it because it's amazing what you can do with this tiny drone.

Sadly no matter what I try I cant get Meshroom to work. It will open and start and Hang up instantly. I gave up on this crap.

Very nice job! I have used DroneLink for my mission to fly our community Equine saddle club. I am processing photos with MeshRoom. Did you have to set anything for the Mini2 camera specs in the MeshRoom camera dataBase? I had several photos that could not be use? Thanks

Hi Gary and thanks, unfortunately it was the first and the last time I used MeshRoom so I don’t remember much as it’s been a while since I made this tutorial. Now I’m using Reality Capture mostly as it’s much faster. Sorry I couldn’t help.
