With respect; you don't really need to use ND filters in this case. Adjusting the shutter speed would have the same effect. It is an option though so to each their own. I personally found this footage to be too dark on my 4K screen. I would also never touch the gimbal with the drone on. I turn it off so I don't stress the small mechanisms inside the gimbal. No need to recalibrate that way either. The added weight of the ND filter and the added lens can do more harm than good so one should at least be aware of this to make an informed choice on whether to use them or not. I almost never use them anymore. I find it to be more hype than need but that's just me. Keep up the good work. I really like your videos even if I sometimes disagree. Cheers and Regards.

Bob, I agree 100% about handling the gimbal with the drone turned on. The tiny gears that operate it are so fine it will probably take less than 0.01lbs of torque to strip them.

You can't adjust the aperture on the Mini 2, and on a bright day you can't compensate by just using shutter speed without invoking judder in moving sequences. That's the other main point of ND filters - to achieve smooth video you need a slow shutter speed so you get natural motion blur. This is only achievable with an ND filter, they are also heavily used in professional video production for the same reasons mentioned in the video. I do agree that I would not touch the gimbal with the drone turned on, but each to their own, I only have one drone!

The ND32 & ND64 really helped a lot in the conditions here. The mid-day sort of light is never ideal, but the Freewell really brought up contrast, color and detail, doing an overall great job. There's no helping the haze I guess, unless and until they come out with the laser spectrometer photon refraction transverse wave anti-radiation electromagnetic diffusion filter. But those won't be cheap!

For sunrise nd8 or 16 shutter needs to be double the fps so ie 1/60 or 1/50 iso 100

One effect I've noticed when I use the Skyreat ND Polarizing filters is a slight color shift upwards (warmer temp). To correct, I take it off AWB and set to MANUAL and drop the settings by about 400 degrees. I have not tried the Freewell, but it might be worth checking out. And ND should not do that, but it does!

Hi, do you get any buzzing on the gimbal with the filter on, if you put it upto your ear and listen. I noticed with the bottom set today (pl ones) or is there a fix?

Just make sure the nd filter teeth are on the widest point of the gimbal and pushed in fully , that way you get no buzzing or shake at all

How do you find the fit of the freewell ND filters on the Mini 2? On mine they go on okay, and they don't fall off (well they haven't fell off yet), but judging by how easy it is to remove them, they don't feel like they are that secure when in use

Hi. Great videos . Keep it up. Just wondering if you experienced what I have once I put my nd filter on on my DJI mini 2. When I put it on and turn the drone on the camera producing high pitch sound. It happens every time I try to put it on. without nd filter everything is fine. I’m using freewell nd polarised filters. Any ideas how to solve this issue...? Many thanks . Greg

Something you might be a gimbal shake when the filters isn’t on correct , make sure the teeth are on the last two gaps on the gimbal and it’s pressed down far as it can go

If you don’t want the set just grab the single filter I listed the nd32 in the description that covers most and the cpl filter is also good
