DJI Mini 4K A Beginner's Guide To Your First Flight

Because the DJI Mini 4K is often a first drone for many enthusiasts I thought a beginner's guide would be helpful to many. In this video I go over the drone and controller in detail as well as show how to set it up for flight. In the flight portion of the video, I go over basic control functions, takeoff, landing, flight controls etc. I also go over the app and go over the FPV (first person view) and basic telemetry. ummm, just got this drone (my first), i live in the uk... it looks different, BUT, very cool drone tbh, i was wondering does it always need line of sight to the controller.. i dont want to take it 1k mtr away and go low and lose signal behind houses or a tree... and then have to go find it to require signal etc etc.. just tested in my street tbh... nothing exciting as to scared of losing it... haha...

These little drones are hard to lose. Make sure you set your RTH higher than any obstacles it might encounter.

Hey! I have been learning with your tutorials how to fly a Dji Mini 4k that I recently bought. Everything has gone very well, I just feel a slight tilt in the videos and images. It's as if the horizon is not 100% level. Also when placing the gimbal protective case, the camera is not completely straight, it is tilted. is this normal? I would appreciate it if you could answer these messages and thank you very much for your great work helping us with your tutorials.

Thank you! A small amount of horizon tilt is not unusual. You shouldn't see much however.

Great video helped me a lot to get me flying. One point that had me puzzled was the placement of the two sticks to start flying when not in auto mode. That works great. It gets the blades spinning ready for take off. I cant find any way of reverting back to auto mode once you have implemented that flight shortcut? The only way I found to get out of it was to take off and land then switch everything off. It reverts back to auto once restarted.

I just got an update on my delivery date of the Mini 4K. It's now supposed to arrive Aug. 5th - 6th. Still way too long a wait. I can't believe that Amazon, knowing how popular this drone would be on Prime Day, didn't have enough in stock. Anyway, I would like to know if there are any inexpensive (I mean cheap.) tablets that will work with the Mini 4K. My iPad Pro is way too large. I would like to have better visibility of the app when flying than one can get with a smart phone. Any suggestions?

I use an iPad mini 6. You will need an adapter though for most tablets.

Yes, the Fat 32 file system creates those individual files. It's easy enough to merge them in a video editor.

Those are all good choices. I think you can buy the Mini 3 new for that much.

I went today and almost bought the Mini 4 Pro. They only had the $959 Kit not the Fly More Kit. I Would have had to order it and wait 5 days. I almost bought it with an extra battery but I still keep coming back to this video. I had a Mini 2 and really enjoyed it. Dumb me sold it since I only used it once in a while near me in Chicago mostly around Lake Michigan Shoreline and above all the power wires around my house. The Pro 4 is great with Waypoints and "Follow Me" but I don't think it would be something I would use often. Obstacle Avoidance is great but my problem in the city is Power Wires. That I know it won't work all the time with. I would feel better just flying above all the wires like I did with my Mini 2 instead of trying to fly near a street around them. Never worried about them with my Mini 2 since I stayed above all of them. $450 for this Mini 4k with the kit for $449 might be the best for me. For what I do and the amount of time I use a drone, $1200 for the 4 Pro would be way "Overkill". You have all the best videos on drones....

I got the mini 4k 2 days ago i was flying it yesterday and today but the estimated flight time the numbers are stuck at 00 00 and when i click on it the 3 things that happen when the battery is low are in grey for example rth and the the other 2 things that happen. Is there a way to fix this ?

Like several people have already stated, I ordered my Mini 4K as a Prime deal with the 3 batteries etc. However, after ordering I found that it won't be delivered for 4 to 7 WEEKS. Bummer! So I've been searching for videos and hints and your video is far and away the best and most comprehensive one I've seen. Thanks, I've subscribed and am looking forward to the future videos about this drone and it's further capabilities.
