I’ve wanted to try drone flying for a while now but the prices have always been a bit high for me to take the plunge on a new hobby, but the DJI mini 4k popped up on the Amazon Black Friday deals here in the U.K for just over £200 so I decided now was the time. I’ve completed my CAA required tests to obtain my operator ID which is required in the U.K, but I’ve yet to take my first flight as the weather at the minute is windy or raining, so I’m trying to absorb as much info as I can from folks on KZbin and found your channel. Marcus, did my first drone flight in about 6 years tonight with the Mini 4K. Sure a change from the old Phantom 3 and the heavy RC heli's. Someone asked in the comments on one of your videos if you could yaw the quad during RTH. FWIW: I was able to with no problems.

Great video helped me a lot to get me flying. One point that had me puzzled was the placement of the two sticks to start flying when not in auto mode. That works great. It gets the blades spinning ready for take off. I cant find any way of reverting back to auto mode once you have implemented that flight shortcut? The only way I found to get out of it was to take off and land then switch everything off. It reverts back to auto once restarted.

Thank you so much for this tutorial , I was contemplating on either the Atom or this 4K and i think im going with the 4K , i noticed on your videos on the Atom you had to exchange it for a new one and it still give you a bit of trouble at times and I believe the 4K remote control is definitely a better controller than Atom controller, so this tutorial is extremely helpful thank you Marcus how much appreciation all the way from Monterey California area..

@IdahoQuadcopter I finally got Moni 4k in air after having to get it on home insurance, registered with german aviation because it's under the weight but had a canera . I watched some videos where people had problems when flying a few metres over water and their drone got confused by the moving water and went into automatic land mode and landed in water . This worries me in case the Mini 4k does the same . Have you flown less than 20 metres over water ? I quite like idea of flying two or 3 metres to follow a river
