air 2s still has better sensor, so you'll get better quality footage and pictures. DJI is not known to overlap features from different lines.

I think Air2s still better overall but, this Mini 3Pro has, 48MP picture, can take a shot vertical (Portrait mode - this is a game changer for IG/FB content creators ) , the rest I will go for Air2s. DJI marketing is really clever! I am sure new model is coming with all the features are excluded on this release! :)

If you want to shoot high image quality stuff, then forget about the zoom as it will significantly degrade the image. Zoom is really only good for checking on things while flying.

I’ve been wanting a drone for a long time. When the Mini and then the Mini 2 first came out, I was tempted, but I really wanted something with obstacle avoidance. I’m glad I didn’t settle then. The Mini 3 seems to have everything I want, especially as a beginner, with enough features that I can learn and grow into.

The portrait mode/vertical mode combined with the upwards gimbal is going to be great for forests, cliffs and skyscraper shooting. Should also be great for stitching panoramas with more sky and ground coverage. Next the mini 4 with side avoidance sensors, of course. It's a heck of a business model (sigh!) that DJI has. It releases new models at a higher price instead of keeping the old price and lowering the one on the old models. At least, that's what I've seen.

Much better and more consumer-friendly business model than, say, Apple, where they do tiny changes year after year and force previous models into obselecence as fast as they can. With DJI, the Mini 3 is a marked step up from the Mini 2, and the price reflects that - there's still a solid place in the market for the Mini 2, and the Mini SE, while the Mini 3 comes in higher for higher end users. There's a great use case to be made for each model, and if your Mini 2 is working great there's no huge impetus to upgrade to the Mini 3 - unless you specifically want the innovations they've added. Personally I upgraded after killing my precious Mini 2, but would have kept flying it if I could.

Please can you answer this 1 question for me.. On the Mini 2 the indoor altitude (without GPS) is limited to 5m. On the Air 2s it's limited to 30m (probably because it has upward sensors). Can you tell me the indoor non GPS limit on the Mini 3 Pro? Thanks and loving your work!

I have some air time on this platform now, it is a good performing drone and a very nice camera. I was out at golden hour this evening capturing the most amazing red sky over the river- in pro and auto cine; captured a kayak group on the water- which by the way was reflecting that incredible red lit Cumulous sky- the camera had a nd4 with clp and the river bottom was clearly visible, the current reflected in the aquatic vegetation- it was amazing! On the rc screen I couldn't tell where the sky ended and the water began- kept my eye on the drone! the drone handled it perfectly. After I burned through 2 plus batteries and called it a night, I was walking back along the beach and I heard a familiar sound...yup, I had coaxed another RPAS out to play, it tracked me for awhile and then went off to capture a painted sky. One thing I will say about performance is this: executing complex manuvers like a descend, zoom, pan overloads the system and it gets "wonky", I hope this changes with firmware updates.

Jeven, I'm new drones. Watching a ton of your videos since I got my DJI mini 3. Appreciate your passion and effort to teach others how to operate them. Question for you. I was watching a DJI mini 3 video - the operator was tracking himself while mountain biking down a hill. In his comments he says he placed the RC in his backpack, removed the sticks, and powered down his RC controller so he could ride the bike without handling his controller. Can you power down the RC controller while in flight and in the tracking mode?
