DJI Mini SE - A Beginners Guide To Your First Flight - Tutorial

This video tutorial will help you get you DJI Mini SE drone in the air for your first flight. I show show what is in the box, and what all of those parts are for. The remote control is explained in detail. I tell you about the drone and it's features and operation. Of course we do a full light test of the drone, and show some suggested practice maneuvers.

I took delivery on a mini se yesterday. I’ve flown it once. I’ve watched other videos so know a little about operating it. But this video was very helpful. I have had a Holystone 440 non GPS for a year so I’ve at least manual flight experience. I’m very impressed with the SE

Great starter review. I watched it as I thought I might get an SE to goof around with (I have an Air 2S). The only thing that struck me is what you called yaw. I have always seen that called rotation, and when you use the right stick and move it side to side, that is the yaw. I think as the other drones have a setting for yaw and it does indeed change the right stick side to side movement some folks might get confused. I think I have this right, but you are more the expert and I think your videos really help people learn. Keep up the good work.

Hi Marcus. I really enjoy your videos, and learn a lot from you. I live in a pretty suburban area, and in Calif there are so many regulations. I was hoping you made a video on dealing with being nervous. Every time I fly it I am constantly thinking everyone is watching me and irritated by the sound of the drone. I hate just standing around holding the remote while the drone is far away. This draws attention because people wonder what you are doing -- park rangers, security, and people like a magnet. I try to do what you do and fly it away from people, but as soon as I get it in the air, everyone comes swarming. Especially, when I am getting ready to land. Everyone comes out of the wood-work. Yes, I have a quiet dji mini 3 pro, but it is still drawing attention. If you have a video, let me know the title.

You make a great point Patty, and I'm not sure that I have a good answer. The Mini 3 is the perfect drone for what you doing, quiet and unobtrusive. If I'm approached while I have a drone in the air, I politely tell them that I cannot talk at that moment. If I'm approached with the drone on the ground, I show them what it is, and try to answer questions. I do understand your conundrum.

Marcus, the SD card was not in the slot when I opened the items from the Factory sealed box. Is it needed to operate the drone?

It is not needed to operate the drone, but it will limit some functions like QuickShots. The video from the camera is recorded to the micro SD card.

Whenever I fly this drone not too far it goes starts giving me weak signals and sometimes loses rc connections is it due to having a big tower around where I fly and too many street lights please let me know if it’s the main reason for all that? Thanks

Make sure the OTG cable is securely connected on both ends.
