It was definitely impressive although I could notice jaggies in the Neo video though they weren't so bad that it would totally put someone off it. Pretty amazing for the price point. Great video by the way.

You’re a skilled flyer, but without your commentary if you had a split screen there would be no way of telling the cost of each drone. Knowing the Neo was first up, everyone was trying to pick out flaws in its flight and its video quality….. But without a split screen and knowing which drone was which, you could have told us it was a Mini 3 and a Mavic 3. In other words, the Neo is very capable and very impressive!!

I don't know if it's sharpness, noise reduction or whatnot on the Neo, but the Neo footage looked more artificial, like CGI. The Avata 2 footage looked more like a real world place. Good flights!

Seems like both will get you paid. If anyone is trying to get their start, the low cost DJI Neo can make that happen.

The wider angle of Avata helps keeping the viewer oriented in tight spaces, imo, especially if the client requires vertical content. However, I could see Neo useful on daytime events to manage the risk of flying over people. Once low light sets in, Neo's shortcomings become more obvious

Great, not much difference specially indoors, maybe the Avata 2 little sharper outside ! Great Video ! Neo does a good job specially inside will open possibilities for indoor flying where Avata is too big ! Why 4:3 ??

The gps signal is often lost indoors , on the Avata 1 this was a real problem and it would often do strange things when it lost signal and then went near to a window and then go crazy, this has been totally fixed with the Avata 2 and it never goes awol (touch wood)

Could you share you camera settings? I have the noise reduction to 0 and sharpness to -2. Try to keep the iso as low as possible but the video is still bad.

On my phone, the Neo footage looked better. Did you do any grading to either? The Avata looks nice when still but the wide angle distortion is a bit much to my taste. The Neo felt more natural.

It is not bad but the avata is defo better and I would only use the neo for fun and maybe to limit the danger of injury etc in certain situations . Note that £170 is with no controller so min spend as a new pilot is £300 and then if you want the proper experience with goggles and a full controller for acro you gotta be looking nearer a grand at which point you might as well get the avata. However if you have everything already this could defo be a good standby for those really tight spots etc at £170 its nothing ...

Imagine,, there had been once a day that having such media of a project- to be able to present this type of video to prospects/ customers- either; you'd need serious cranes and equipment for the cameras $$$ not to mention the crew, safety concerns...the time... the over time... the double time- and that's for industry folk specializing in such cinematography $$$$... or you'd have a studio do up a rendering/ CGI- maybe just maybe it won't look TOO TOO - well, not real, and created on a computer... might fool some, might impress others... still, lots and lots of specialized skilled work- and many hours to create. Possibly, even having to add in 1st mentioned method...more production cost $$$. Producing a media real of your project like this equals BIG BIG bucks. Heck, it's a multimillion dollar project- media like this sells. Along comes the drone...not just any drone but the Neo... does similar, if not better ... just to poke fun at the whole thing...onsite time 30 min..caught all the swoops and angles.. the weather was just right.. perfect day... drive home.. both commute to and from site a couple of hours(you stopped for a snack once and some food another)- oh, it's just you, no crew...no rental equipment, no cranes.... get home, and process footage, edit, send to client... all done in under 8 hours... (shhh don't tell the client though.....)

I watched this on my tv. The Avanta footage glitched every 4 seconds like it had dropped frames. The Neo footage didn't have this issue. Did this happen to anyone else?

I know you can use the Avata 2 Goggles for the NEO but can you use its stick controller or the Mini 4 Pros Controller or the Avata 1 Controller ?

Good question and I’m not sure, I would guess it has to be controller 3 for FPV mode, the other controller it comes with doesn’t fly the same it more like a mavic with that one.
