nice video man, thanks for testing the temperature. TBH I find it hard to switch away from the original Air units/ Vista with WTFOS. O4 fixed most issues from o3, but recording on the fpv camera is not ideal (exposure change, low shutter speed and the quality is still inferior to any action camera), so if flying with 5 inch and above I don't care about o4... Now if we're trying to fly smaller and safer drones, o4 makes a lot of sense. A 2.5" whoop or 3" racer with just an AIO and an o4 pro is very safe, much more quiet, can actualy hit smaller gaps, and still deliver good shots. It's also a much easier to pack a couple of small quads with 10 lipos than a couple of 5inch with as many lipos. For content creators and productions that aren't too picky about quality, it might be a no brainer to switch to o4.

I can guarantee you the quality of the O4 camera is better than the GoPro 13 and on par with cameras like the Action 5 Pro and Ace Pro 2. However I do understand wanting a different shutter speed and sharpness for an FPV camera for ease of flying etc. yeh the O4 is definitely a good option especially if you still want to use an external action camera

So basically, the 04 pro is the camera from the avata 2. Same fps and resolution and same color assist as the a2. And the 04 lite is the neo with higher fps since it can record 4k 60fps while the neo only has 4k 30fps.

Yeah, me too. I'm struggling to decide between it and the Evoque. I fear it wouldn't be as tough and bombproof as the Evoque though, in the video it seems to have slightly thinner arms. And I'm worried about the shakiness in the video too, maybe the new camera mount is not that good?!

Avata 2 can freestyle quite well, watch dronearchy. It decently powerful but what makes it standout from other Fpv drones is its settings, camera drone abilities, gimbal, and flight time as well as range. Definitely worth it

Nice review ! Is the Cineflow 5 worth it ? Is it relatively easy to jump from the avata 2 to the cineflow 5 ? And what batteries would you recommend for the Cineflow 5 to get between 10 and 20 minutes of flight ?

Yeh it’s awesome! There’s a bit of a learning curve when it comes to custom FPV but it’s all part of the fun. Batteries I would go with what iflight recommends on their page. But you will never get 10-20 minutes of flying. these drones are usually about 5-8

At the moment almost all old frames aren’t going to work. The only one I know of now are the CineFlow and CineLR from iFlight 🙌🏼

It’s a tough one. The video quality is identical so it comes down to whether you prefer the convenience of the Avata and how easy it is to charge set up etc. or if you want more power and control with a custom build. Both are good options

One of the most frustrating experiences with DJI products of all kinds is that they don't have their WB under control. Variations in all directions from camera to camera. Mixing shots from different cameras and drones is a nightmare.

Yeh it can be bad! You will see the difference in green tint between the O3 and the O4 especially for the daytime coastal shots. All WB were set to the same values for these shots

No it’s not. ELRS is always going to be better range, especially if you go for higher power output like up to 500mW. I’ve had bad experiences with using the DJI controller so I don’t anymore

Yes if you select rocksteady stabilisation on then the footage straight from the camera will be stabilised 🙌🏼

No I haven’t. But DJI does a lot of optimisation so it’s likely that it will work best with the antennas it comes with

Yes the quality you get from the Pro is going to be identical to Avata 2. There is also a low light camera module coming out for O4 pro in March.

Yes but marginal. O4 Pro with Goggles 3 uses 60Mhz or 60 Mbps and with Goggles 2 it will be limited to 40Mhz or 50Mbps. Not a huge difference.

Really disappointing there’s nothing special about the 04. From what I’ve gathered in all the reviews it has improved range, which nobody really cares about in FPV, the exact same picture in the goggles as the 03, which is the absolute most disappointing thing. What makes DJI so special is the incredible image quality you get through the Dos and the 04 and 03 have the exact same image quality in the goggles. In other words, it’s only range, race mode, which is only beneficial to racers and post video posting, which is only for content creators and has no benefit to people who just like flying. I’m hoping someone will tell me I’m wrong because I wanted this so bad and I’ve been waiting for it for over a year but now that it’s out I don’t think the height was worth it

If you are using the air unit just for flying experience then you are right there isn’t a massive difference. Not a bad thing you can get o3 air units for cheaper now
