Thank you so much for doing this review. This really answers questions I have about IRL live streaming image quality in webcam mode (which you tested, picture-wise at least). I'm very excited for my Action 4 to arrive. As much as we love our old AS300 and 3000s this is clearly the new standard in IRL streaming --- especially since it improves battery life of Belabox by 50% because no capture card needed.

Thank You ! I tried to compare A4 with my old footage from X3000 and X3000 seems to be a bit sharper. But overall difference is not big, and A4 has some advantages like dynamic range, waterproofness, screen... So... overall nice camera... If anyone has a dead x3000, he can buy A4 and will be almost the same :)

zawsze mozesz to zrobic w postproducji, a sciaganie ostrosci nie wychodzi na dobre :P. fajnie jakbys tez zrobila taki test, bo x3000 tez nie byla tak popularna mimo tego ze przez lata byla niebo lepsza od gopro nawet. you can always make it in postprocess, making sharpless is not good in final. good if you will make test like that, because x3000 is also not so popular, even it was from so many years better than gopro.

Always worth comparing cameras - no matter how dissimilar they may initially seem. However, in this case, the Osmo seems to me to have better exposure latitude and low-light performance. Otherwise, not too much to choose between them. That said, the Sony seems sharper in many shots...

Thank you for 1080p. After so many years... I still cannot find a reason to replace it lol. I have my pocket 3 which is superb but I was thinking about action 4 for my bicycle rides and... There's just no logical reason for me to actually shell out more money for another action cam lol. Sony is just so freaking good... I will let the camera run some more... It deserves it's place in my collection. When it fails, if ever... Hopefully Action 5 will come out with same video quality as pocket 3. Thank you once again for 1080p/

Do you have the Lens protector for the Sony ? It reduces the flare as well. I bought it years ago but It's very hard to find nowadays, or for 3 times it price from aliexpress

Thanks a lot for the comparison! IMHO Action 4 is better in every aspect - colors, dynamic range, stabilization, detail, ergonomics, etc. The sound quality is about the same for me. I had X3000 and the main reason for switching to a different camera was poor dynamic range and color shift in difficult light conditions. I switched to Gopro 9 then, but now I'll order Action 4 as well:)

Hi 😀, they are both excellent cameras. If I should choose one Dji Action 4 is the best camera. But they are not indoor cameras for long time filming. If you wanna have a podcast camera maybe sony zv1 could be a good one. But for me the best camera are dji action 4. Thanks for watching 😀

I liked your video it was very enlightening for me, here where I live in Brazil a used Sony fdr 3000 is the price of a new GoPro hero 12, the osmo is a little more expensive than the gopro.

do you think it's worth getting an x3000 purely for the quality of the internal mic? i have a channel where I like to do street interviews etc and i'd like to not put an external mic in someones face if I don't have to - I think that way people can be more relaxed. could it be worth getting an x3000 just for this? edit: i have an action 4 and a pocket 3 with 2 dji mic 2's. i want to strip it down to just one camera. the more basic the better

Hi😀x3000 has really good mic and could work with interviews. But since you have the pocket 3 with dji mic thats a lot better. The pocket 3 is small and compact and also the mics.

thank you for this ! dji has this sony look IMO, which is amazing. it is realistic and good looking image, sony looks sharper, but i think if add some sharpness in post to dji it will be exacly this same. sound is really similar but dji is total waterproof so wow. if you can make similar test but in real low light where x3000 still works really good, it will be awesome, thanks again for comparision and take care !

I shoot a lot of night footage and the X3000 optical stabilisation is still king for night scenes. It kills me that Sony haven't made a decent cam since the X3000. We can dream they will once again enter the market.

For a 7 year camera the Sony is great! However, the Osmo action 4 in my opinion, has better picture, quality, stabilization, and sound. The Osmo action 4 has better noise, cancellation. Good comparison!

The Action 4 looks way better: It has far superior dynamic range, and is brighter in general, with good 1080, and clearer better audio. The Sony cannot deal with high contrast scenarios, and looks darker.
