Not the point, the biggest marketing point was the better battery life, they neglected to tell the viewers that this lower bitrate affected video quality and wasn't at par with previous A4. I'm pretty sure if they mentioned that in their advertising there would be less buyers or users would have opted for higher bitrate over battery life. Let me ask you this, if DJI knew of this issue why did they not just give us the higher bitrate option like other cameras do and disclosed that IF you use lower bitrate you would get the 'advertised' 4 hour battery life instead just saying higher battery life in this new A5Pro? I have pretty much all of the DJI's cameras but that's just sneaky imo. I'll stay with my A4 for now. and even with this higher bitrate options, many users are reporting there's hardly any difference if any they could see.

@@photorabz. I believe all manufacturers should take a step back and focus on making better products instead of pushing to release a new product every year. Read IPhone , Samsung and GoPro and now we can ad DJI and Insta360 to that category . Take your time and don’t rush. It hurts the market rather than help. Honestly, in the end I don’t care if a camera has the latest and greatest specs if the content created with them and presented on KZbin is shit. It’s more down to editing and skill what makes great content. Not the camera gear. Many of my favourite channels I follow is filmed with phones but the production is fantastic. Content is king. Not the gear.

Honestly once uploaded to KZbin it's very difficult to tell any difference casually watching a video. I took the OA5 kayak fishing yesterday with new firmware in standard mode, i will post some videos of standard video and super night mode while cruising down river into sunset.

No camera will perfect. There will always be trade offs. Everything is subjective to everyone and people will have a preference in terms of color, detail, etc. It’s good that DJI gives us the option to choose between standard vs high bitrates.

Yeah, been out testing it today. I hope it looks better, I been out mounting the camera to my car to get some speed. Fast moving object should be visible with higher bitrate. Good test👍

Yesterday I went for a ride on the motorbike with the new update. Unfortunately the higher bitrate didn't noticeably improve anything. It still gets muddy at 25mph...a shame, I was really hoping for this.

I couldn't tell any difference. I will try mine tomorrow on the motocross track. I didn't have any trouble with the standard bit rate but I didn't care for the normal color profile compared to the Action 4. The Action 5 looks best using D-log M and adding the DJI A5 lut in post. Maybe after using those settings the higher bit rate might be noticeable.

Such tests on a still frame are useless for high bitrate. It is designed to be used for fast movement of many small parts, for example, fast riding when descending on a mountain bike through bushes or grass. You can also shoot a talking head at a low value, there is no difference in quality, only the gain will be in terms of disk space and operating time.

Interesting, I've seen that on a couple video now....the high bitrate do look worst than the regular one...That camera had the potential to crush the Gopro..DJI dropped the ball big time with this...I decided to send back mine and wait for the Ace Pro 2, thanks for the vid mate, it really helps

Thanks for the test. Watching in 2160p full screen on my 32 inch monitor, it was hard to see much difference, though I did feel high bit rate was slightly sharper. I think to make any differences more apparent with such a test it would be good to zoom in on the footage. I zoom a lot when editing (see 'Culture Compass'), and that's when footage usually turns to shit.

Thx for your comment. Well actually zooming to pixel peep you can see slight differences but so in noticeable... And my videos are not about pixel peeping...that's why I don't think we have improved image quality here (and that's why I did not post the videos side by side to get the max out of it)

@@photorabz I'm not about pixel peeping either, but I zoom in to hide cuts when I interview people and cut from one soundbite to another. So for me personally, how footage looks when zoomed in is important from an editing standpoint as I will never only use the standard footage as is.

Very hard to tell in these, but I think overall they fixed the bitrate issue, which was MAINLY a paper specification issue. The highest bitrate KZbin recommends is 85Mbps for 4K content and that is for HDR. For SDR it is 68Mbps and that is for 60fps. For under 60fps, the max is 56Mbps for KZbin. It can get very technical but I think empirically there might only be a noticeable difference if you were biking through the woods at a high speed, which a lot of moto vloggers should be concerned with. I think the main issue isn't REALLY bitrate. It's that it flat out doesn't look any better than the Action 4 OVERALL. It is brighter in lowlight but with more noise. So, tit for tat. Yes, we were expecting a breakthrough like the Pocket 3 in image quality. I'm excited for the Ace Pro 2 but if it makes my skin tone look like chocolate chip plastic cookie dough then it won't work which would be a bummer because I'm also wanting to play around with the AI features.

Hello there! I don't know who to ask anymore since apparently nobody is willing to answer my questions. I don't want to buy this camera before knowing if it does what I need it for or not. So, my question is, is this camera overheating (European version) when used indoor at a normal temperature (around 21°C) when recording non stop at 4K30? My AO3 overheats after 25 minutes when not using the patch file. So, is the AO5 Pro doing the same because of the European regulations? And if it overheats, does it keep recording (with no screens) or is it turning off completely? I hope you can answer my questions. Thanks in advance.

Hi there I shot in 4k25 indoor at 20c, not moving High bitrate 10bit color depth I got overheat at 132min, knowing that the screen was off during the record At low bitrate no overheat, battery depleted at 176min

For me it's important that the camera doesn't shut off in the middle of a long recording. Two hours is a very good amount of time, one hour recording time would be already enough for me. Battery life doesn't matter with the new firmware in an Adventure Combo and overheating is no issue in cold, winter air! I can quickly swap out my batteries on my DJI Action 3 on the fly! And why did you forget to test it in low light/dark conditions? You had 10 chances to do so plus include some quality when zoomed in and the like. Are you still unimpressed with the raw quality of the high bitrate?

Thanks for video mate 🙏 I don´t understand why dji goes to unreal plastic (hdr) look with oa5. It looks the most of the time so bad. I bought one and shoot one video with it. I was so satisfied till I saw how it looks on pc monitor. Great camera for using, but... Until now watching on several youtubers on this new firmware update of the DJI osmo action 5 ''pro'' I am really disappointed with the image quality of this camera, I have the Gopro12 and no matter what others think about it, but the G12 has a much better image quality than the OA5 ''Pro'' on day light (This is my own opinion) and now I will wait for the Insta360 Ace ''pro'' 2 before making a choice or maybe wait until next year For me it is the image quality that counts.

The difference is going to be noticeable when moving not standing still. We are looking for the compression artifacts produced in trees, grasses or the road when doing things like biking. It’s a muddy look. That said, I’m not impressed at all with any of these videos. I think I’ll wait to see what the Ace Pro 2 has in store for us.

I can understand your concern But tbh it does matter of you are moving so fast compared to Mbps....but if at still position no enhancement or no noticeable enhancement then how you would imagine an enhancement while moving fast.... If you have a better explanation please let me know. Btw I'm working on a video with moving car, bike, .... But I think it's nonsense because almost no to little enhancement in still scenes

For me I feel like there is big differences in N5 that green leaf is not that compressed, other than that in other clips maybe just the asphalt, just with my screen and my eyes on this KZbin video, so maybe if you are just doing vlog or streetwalking or something just stay with standard, use high with complex environment and fast movement, maybe also at low light environment. Others have also said the 5 Pro with the new firmware is even performing better at night, especially the supernight mode now is much better, but I already return mine don't know the real situation.

Bitrates according to what I know is the amount of data processed and stored each second. So if at static shots we still have loss of data in clouds, skin, so imagine at a certain speed. Btw I did a car test check the other video
