Both cameras are great, the AP2 flat profile looks better than the standard profile but for me im leaning towards the DJI because i like to shoot in Dlog and its 10bit so i can color grade my videos so if you are having a hard time choosing can't go wrong with either of these 2

Like you said, there are sometimes when each camera manages better light, color, definition, etc, however, I’m leaning toward the Osmo Action 5 Pro, it seems more natural overall and I like the possibilities that we have with D-Log M mode. Both cameras are amazingly good taking into account that in the end, they are action cameras! Cheers!

I prefer AP2 in all situations where you filmed, brighter and clearer image. It excites me more. OA5 pro is still a great cam.

If you ask me, they are quite similar. Both are the best action camera you can buy. But I have to say that 10 bit D-Log on the Action 5 is something I like. No matter which of them you buy, you have made a good purchase

I went with the A5P, happy with it, coming from a gopro 9 that i couldn't use in low light at all and had this audio pop and crack the first 2 minutes of recording. i am very impressed with the low light recording so far on the A5P. got it off the DJI site they had a deal for extra battery. it actually came with a total of 3 batteries. one with camera and two in box. i was happy with that.

I use mainly waveform to sync. But since I got the saramonic ultra that has time code, now I use almost all the time the time code

OA5 footages always look dim and don't have face priority ?. is DJI has option to bring up exposer to make video footages more brighter ?.

Yeah you can increase exposure but they don't have face priority

Well done Photorabz! Nice compare! Finnaly Flat profile in ap2! With it we got a much better details in deep shadows, space for colorcorrection in post (which i missed while moving from oa1, where flat profile is very good). What is strange, is that in this sunny day with lots of lights, your face little bit ouf of focus in ap2 almost in all shots, or am i wrong? For me personally this is not critical, but overall thats confusing. Nice! Thank you!

Thank you for another great review! I still think, in regards to video quality, the ap2 is slightly better but not by much. I still lean towards the osmo a5p because of the battery life and the dji mic2 (and mini mic) compatability.

Color grade I guess, there are also plenty of settings you can adjust.

Besides white balance you can't do much with colors on camera. Color grade is good but again I dnt think this is how people use these cameras. More than 90% won't color grade

Hi, Ive been watching your action cam videos for quite sometime and I really appreciate your effort. The vidoes are very good. I have a question for you. Can the close focus on AP2 be improved by a firmware update? If so, are they going / planning to do it? I feel (atleast for me / my use case) that close focus issue is the only thing holding it back from being almost perfect.. Thanks in anticipation for your comments.

Close focus is a hardware thing. I mentionned that in many videos. Having a 40 or 45cm minimum focus is more than enough for 90% of use cases...I won't do macro with these cams, I won't vlog at 30cm away, it's not a camera that showcases products neither...

Thanks for bringing this video.. Both cameras are best with their own strength, no clear winner because sometimes Ap2 look better and sometimes A5 Pro. AP2 is bit better in lowlight than A5 Pro, when it comes to skin tone of the face, A5 Pro is accurate (example 10:23) Purchase choice is how a user need to use.

In this the dji comes out better. Overall the ace pro 2 is not there yet. Considering the weird colors in night time, considering the blueish color in snow. Next although ace pro 2 has some nice upgrades, the action 5 wins because of battery, because of price, because of 10 bit, because of better integration with dji mic. Next some customers are facing fog lens issues with the ace pro 2. I have not heard anybody having issues with the action 5. So maybe future ace pro 2 will get better, or maybe future ace pro 3.

Finally, after much difficulty and expensive customs clearance, my Insta Ace Pro 2 arrived, but I have a problem. The Ace Pro 2 will not connect the application. Stuck screen on language and serial number on bottom. App does not even list the Ace pro 2. Wi-fi and Bluetooth enabled.

@@photorabz The AP2 arrived today after a long wait and expensive customs clearance cost with FEDEX. Everything works anyway. I couldn't activate it because of the approval of the permissions. Insta360 human support helped me :)

Actually no. Though it would be nice if these brands pay me lol. I question lots of things not only when people say oa5 is better. But I am against the idea that one is better than the other one. They both have strengths and weaknesses. In the same comparison video this might be better here and that might be better there....and after all it's a matter of preference

DJI had better close focus distance for face. In Ace pro your face looks blurry and has less details. Just see your coat, soo many details are lost on Ace pro in close focus.

Clouds are not a factor, look at the sun as it passes through them. I chose the DJI because of the 10 bit colors.
