Loved the no stabilisation for its immersion and feeling of being on the motorcycle and horizon steady for its almost drone like feel.

i like the dji rocksteady 30 fps .... the handlebar setup is nice. at slow speeds the 60 fps are nice , but once you go over 50 ... feels like an airplane !

one more to DJI Rocksteady... Then about the question 30 or 60fps, I would say I like more 60fps as its is really smooth. So that would be my setup. Really nice and good comparation between modes.

Do you recall the shutter speeds for each, pls?
@PatchedBandit6 ай бұрын
Camera is in auto mode so shutter speed is variable.
@NowFilmz6 ай бұрын
@@PatchedBandit The minimum shutter speed will be good to note. I realise it's not easy to get the info after the recording. Thank you.
@PatchedBandit6 ай бұрын
In auto mode it is not possible to determine it when recording or after the recording. 99% of users use auto shutter on actioncams. Going lower on the shutter speed also means the stabilization will not work as intended.

30fps Rocksteady good enough for me. Keeps it real and good feeling of the ride and what's going on.

Thanks for the video, I was planning to do a similar test on my DJI Osmo Action 4. The 60fps blur images more than the 30fps. I also prefer the DJI RockSteady because it does not crop the video as much as the others. Drive safely and have fun.

out of curiosity, my birthday is coming up and am thinking of the gopro 11. Any reason why you chose the DJI over the Gopro?
@PatchedBandit Жыл бұрын
Multiple reasons: - Biggest: Software is ten times more stable. I cant count the times my gopros have frozen or refused to save my videos. Absolutely infuriating software stability. My DJI has never frozen or corrupted files and I have been using the same one for almost a year already. - DJI is much lighter and smaller especially when gopro is equipped with mediamod and max lens mod. - DJI is cheaper with no drawbacks (in my opinion). - The magnetic mount is super nice as you saw from the video. The camera mount stays in the same position after unmounting and mounting again. Mount has never failed me so I trust it fully. Gopro in my opinion only has 2 benefits: - Ever so slightly better image dynamics. Havent compared them side by side with the newest firmware improvements though. - With max lens mount gopro can go wider with horizon balancing mode. Drawback is that gopro with the mods is much more bulky and heavy (mediamod+max lens mod) But for me the biggest is that Gopro just fails to do it's job every day during my shoots. Frozen camera with failed recordings at least once a day when shooting my motovlogs is just enough for me to abandon the whole company. I will not be buying or redommending Gopro's until they fix their software problems. Gopro's before hero 9 were ok. The newest are crap.

@@PatchedBandit thanks for the feedback. on my research, it mentions gopro 11s heat up but has been addressed, and the dji3 has some hardware focus issues that requires them to be sent off. any experience with that?
@PatchedBandit Жыл бұрын
I’ve had no issues with mine. Most of what I have seen is people trying to focus close on an actioncamera (vlogging). Its probably not the ideal camera for that but I’ve done that too without issues. Keep posted for next fridays episode with the newest DJI firmware.

Which mic are you using bro?? Share the details of the helmet setup
@PatchedBandit Жыл бұрын
I'm using multiple mics. Rode and DJI. I might do a complete video of my motovlogging setup a bit later. I didn't use all the equipment on this video as it was just about video but I have been hoaning the sound setup for a year to get the audio just right. My opinion is that the video can suck a bit here and there but if the sound is not good nobody is gonna watch the video. Sound is the most important. I use 2 mics on 2 different tracks when I do my motovlogs (rescent ones). I can control the helmet audio and riding audio separately and it's very nice although requires like 2% more in the edit :) I just feel that nobody seems to be that interested in these tech videos though..

I'm curious how using 30fps in a 60fps video would affect playback quality
@PatchedBandit Жыл бұрын
Technically as can be divided by 2 so 30 being exactly half of 60 it should not have any bad affects on the video. At least at Final Cut Pro... but is it the same in KZbin processing who knows. All I can say I proof watch every video after edit straight after export locally on my mac and then on youtube after upload and 4K processing and I saw no ill effects. Difference between 30 and 60 is apparent on both though just like it is in the original files.

Weird - I really liked the non stabilised video on a road/ride like that. I felt that the fast running scenery looked crisp, and the wide field of view gave me better feeling of the surroundings. It also made justice to the Honda’s beautiful cockpit IMO😊 On a phone display the shaking and bouncing didn’t make me nauseous, but it could happened on a bigger screen😅 Fast and bouncy tracks edited with short and fast clips should do the trick. Love it! Good content👌🏻

Thanks! There was not much of entertainment in this one but I had to test it for myself so might as well post something right :D I think all of these modes including the non stabilised does serve a purpose in filmmaking. The thing is though most of the time I just want to keep it in one setting and you rarely know anyway when is the situation where the this or that works better. The newest episode coming friday I shot fully on rocksteady and 60fps. I like the wider view as you can in post production (edit) just crop in where needed. 4K has enough resoltion to crop like 150% easy and not make the picture too messy. I would love to start making a bit more cinematic films and not these run and gun vlog style that I tend to do. Bit by bit I'm learning as this video stuff is all brand new to me :) Thanks for commenting!

Rocksteady 60fps. Though, in some situations 30fps would look/feel a bit more "peaceful". I guess one can't go wrong with either option really. But definitely the "basic" Rocksteady. No stab makes eyes hurt and the two more aggressive modes create too rubberbandish feel IMO.

Vary true. I use rocksteady and at times crop in 150% to show off the view a bit better. Seems to be the best way to do it so far :)

DJI rocksteady 30fps is fine, the 60fps is better when turning your head at intersection but when moving along faster doesn't matter as much

You want a bit of offroad movement, but you definitely need some stabilisation imho. I'd prefer Rocksteady at 30 or 60 fps. By the way: That's the action cam which could replace my GoPro 7 black. Cheers, Günter/Nürnberg

In some setting you will please the mom and in some other setting you will please the daughter. You can't please them all! For me the rocksteady looks the best but I do recognize the horizon balancing also that it pleaces me because I've used to the 360 degree camera picture and how it looks. THe difference between 30fps and 60fps is irrelevant when you are not using slow motion.
