The DJI Mic 2 is actually a full on bluetooth mic. It does pair with other things: your PC/Mac and the Insta360 X3 / One RS for example.

pocket 2 seems out of focus during test? maybe single focus not continues?
@aaronpk Жыл бұрын
Yep, I double checked this when I was editing and it was in single autofocus mode. But I guess this is another demonstration of the problem with the tiny screen! It's so hard to tell what's in focus when the screen is that tiny.

Very encouraging to see the video quality is gaining traction, getting better. The image is not bad. And what's not to like about a company that really digs and tries hard at gimbals. Mount that thing on a monopod and you got the perfect pendulum like stabilization/dampener for hand-held stuff.

Hi Aaron! Kind of a niche use set of questions, but I use my Pocket 2 for filming ice hockey from a high vantage point on a tall tripod at center ice (mostly hockey) and use the MIMO app control the camera wirelessly and follow the action. I'm wondering if the Pocket 3 via the MIMO app functions exactly the same as the pocket 2 or if there are any additional controls via the app? Second question, now that the Pocket 3 can be used as a straight up USB web Cam (Pocket 2 couldn't), I'm wondering if you can still control the Pocket 3 from the MIMO app *while* it's being used as a webcam. This would allow be to use it the same way as I use my Pocket 2 *and* live stream the feed w/ my Yolobox Pro via the USB input. I can live stream from the Pocket 2 using Cosmo Streamer, but it has some rather annoying limitations and extra setup (like no audio over the HDMI). Hoping to get some answers without having to buy one 🙂.

Hi! That sounds very cool! The players don't mind skating around the tripod in the center? 😅 Unfortunately when the Pocket 3 is in webcam mode you can't use the MIMO app to control it. You might want to look at the new OBSBOT Tail Air though, it has HDMI out and you can control it from the app! You can even control it with other PTZ controllers too if you want kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmfCY2end81jarc

Can you connect this pocket 3 to a yolopro but wirelessly ....I would love my assistant to walk around while i switch on the yolopro
@aaronpk Жыл бұрын
I would love that too! The only wireless option for getting video out of the Pocket 3 is the built in RTMP streaming. You could stream that to a Magewell Pro Convert (geni.us/fLOJsAu) and plug that in to the yolobox. It would be great if the DJI Pocket 3 had NDI or SRT, but I doubt we'll ever get that.

New Feature Requests for the DJI OSMO Pocket 3 1. Add a dwelling time for each of up to four settable movement positions in Motion Time-Lapse Mode. As each of the four settable positions programmed into a motion time-lapse sequence is reached, the end user could set from 1 to 10 seconds of a pause in gimbal movement as each programmed position is reached during the sequence before the gimbal moves forward to the next programmed position. This would yield a much more dynamic and professional looking, smoother motion time-lapse sequence. 2. In Motion Time-Lapse Mode the ability to set movement ease in and ease out settings from 0.5 to 3 seconds for each programmable gimbal position before gimbal movement normal progression rate is reached. 3. True 24.00p filming speed. 4. The ability to set time-lapse sequences based on 24.00p. 5. The ability to be able to record from the DJI Mic 2 and from a plugged in via USB audio source at the same time. 6. Adding a 10 Bit 4:2:2 recordable video codec. 7. Please add zoom capability when shooting in all time-lapse modes.

Awesome! flip screen are always trouble, what is your opinion on it, is it true some minor group of people are having issues with the P3 screen not maintaining its position? Not sure with that risk if I need to upgrade to the P2 or P3
@aaronpk Жыл бұрын
So far it's been pretty solid. My only complaint about the flip screen is sometimes it doesn't register as a "turn off" command like if the webcam is still connected you can't flip the screen to turn it off. The picture quality is definitely a major step up compared to the Pocket 2 as well.

They need to just make a gimbal brace for the pocket 3 that you can clip on and ditch the “hard case” I had the same thought….it’s no longer “pocket” it’s “backpack”. I can literally carry the pocket 2 and not think much of it but the 3 is a CHUNK in my pocket. For that reason alone I think I’m going to wait to upgrade. I don’t shoot at night so the low light isn’t huge for me.
@fonte935 Жыл бұрын
Curious on how to get the output of the 3 either into a computer or streaming device via USB or into an Atem via HDMI. And, is it worth doing that, is it better than like a Sony ZV-1 for such purposes.

I realise this is an old video, but would love to know your experience using the Pocket 3 while travelling. Was it too big as you suspected in this video? Which do you prefer for travelling? I only ask because all of your comments in this video I can associate with. Hope you get a chance to reply.
@aaronpkАй бұрын
I have been bringing it with me while traveling, but I still think it's just a little too big. It is just barely small enough to fit in the pockets in my backpack. That said, the quality is noticeably better than the Pocket 2, and being able to pair directly with the DJI Mics is super useful. And the bigger screen is a lot more useful. So I still wish it were closer to the size of the 2, but the upgrades are worth it anyway.
@vivamomentАй бұрын
This is very helpful. Thank you for your super quick reply. The Pocket 2 is very old now but I am thinking of getting one as the small size is important to me. The old adage that the best camera is the one that is with you applies to me. Also I hope to have great audio which will improve on the video quality if you know what I mean.
@aaronpkАй бұрын
Great! You can probably find a good deal on the Pocket 2 now too. The picture quality of the 3 is significantly better in low light, but if you're in broad daylight the 2 will look fine. Like you said, the audio quality will make a bigger difference to your audience. So do keep in mind that the new DJI Mics only work with the Pocket 3, not the Pocket 2.
@vivamomentАй бұрын
@@aaronpk Thanks again! So I am edging towards the now very old Pocket 2 just for the size. But as you have both I have one final question. If you were travelling with the family and expected to take only outdoor and well lit videos, would you take your Pocket 2 or the larger Pocket 3? I guess I am asking you whether you have been hooked on the higher quality videos of the Pocket 3 and therefore will make do with the larger size.

It's more of a general theme across all my content. I have a video about the BGH-1 box cameras I use in my studio, I usually bring the Sony ZV-* series for livestreaming when I travel, and I like using the small cameras like Osmo Pocket and Insta360 Go 3 for on the go stuff. But yeah I should do a video about that!

Of course, the DJI Mic 2 is the successor to the DJI Mic 1 - there's no question about that for me and it wouldn't make sense otherwise, because DJI urgently needs to bring out a successor to the DJI Mic 1 in order to catch up with the Rode Wireless Pro Set. You can tell that the mic included in the Creator Combo is the successor to the DJI Mic 1 simply by the fact that DJI has given the mic 32-bit float recording and you can also pair 2 mic's. The only thing that remains to be seen is which sets DJI will release of the Mic 2. But we will find out at the latest when the new Mic 2 system is officially presented - I think there is a good chance that this will take place this year.

DJI Mic 2, can connect to any bluetooth device, the mic 2 will also be sold with a charging case, aswell as separately, look at bottom of mic 2, there is charging pins on the bottom.
