I don't agree with you. With OP3, you have to know basic stuff like how to operate the gimbal so it can record the perfect scene, which takes some skill. On the X4, you only need to point and shoot, and you can be sure that you will never lose a moment without needing to constantly looking at the screen to make sure you don't point at the wrong direction.

*I just got the OP3 and the video quality is amazing. I also have the Instat360 x3 and that camera comes in handy when I need that 3rd person perspective view. The creative camera movement you can create when reframing is simply amazing on the insta360. I wont upgrade until the 10 bit version comes out. Other than that I think having both cameras is the ultimate way to go to cover all the perspective shots I would need.*

I had both and sood the pocket 3. The 3 is a nice vlogging tool but its still just a standard camera. The creatuve shots from the X4 makes recording inspiring again. From 3rd person perspectives, to over the top, to full 360. And with the 8k its much more useable than previous versions

I have an Osmo 3 right now. It's a GREAT camera for exactly what you said. The gimbal. I'm actually getting the 360 because running the osmo at events and parties is too slow. I wont be getting rid of the osmo though. If you're one of those people who just does the head talking thing and walks around and talks into a camera that osmo 3 is perfect. I can't wait to try the 360 though. No more worrying about missing shots. Thanks for the video man it helped a ton in confirming that I want both!

Insta360 can do a little bit of everything. Motovlog, YT Studio camera and a Travel camera. So, for most retail customers, this is the one. But if you are serious about your video creation career, then you need to have all three. An action camera for moto/adventure vlogging, 360 camera for travels and Osmo Pocket for HQ vlogs, not to forget near perfect b-rolls without having to invest in gimbals.

Agreed, the Pocket 3 is more of long term “Useful” tool in one’s arsenal. They both are great in their own ways, but which will make you a better shooter…… Which one has a 1 inch sensor…. As I've said on your OP3 video. This is the ultimate combo: X4 n Osmo pocket 3 with the RODE Interview Pro + the MIC 2s for news page on FB to my 800K+ audience. I use both. x4 for a wider n better 3rd person/Creative/ estabiling shots shots when walking n the OP3 for talking head shots or my travel/vlog videos. Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses is a plus for POV.

Pocket 3 has a Gimbal, and will always bring home the shots, I prefer a legit gimbal over digital stabilization any day.…. Plus the slo mo option is on Pocket 3 is beyond butter!!! Love the insta, but once you use the 369 gimmick on a couple shots in your cuts, the hype is gone…. You will get a lot more for you your dollar both footage and skills wise with a pocket 3 …. X4 and a quality 10 bit cell phone for me. The results you can get with MotionCam (60 fps raw video 10 bit output) in a serious cell phone is nothing short of amazing. It's is also compatible with Gyroflow so you can get super stabilized video. MotionCam demo'd 120 fps 10 bit raw output using a Xiaomi 12S Ultra that blew my mind. IMHO it just blew the doors off the Pocket 3.

Hi, I downloaded your footage and to be honest I was shocked with the footage of the Ferrari taken with the Insta360 X4. It looked so bad compared to the Osmo Pocket. Same with footage in that flat color profile. And what about that Cityscape ? why does it look so horrible ? Seeing that really makes me doubt buying the Insta360X4. However, all over youtube, I do see very good footage of it. So I'm bit confused on what to think now.

i own both + ace pro, they are all different cameras and not to be compared with. X4 in my eyes have very limited usage especially taking into consideration that you can only use it in daylight. Osmo is the most versatile amongst the 3 but does not have the ip resistance so you need to treat it or even better than your phone.

I have the insta360 x3 and just orders a refurbished OP3 . The x3 is very poor in low light but awesome for 360 images . I expect to use both during travel for different purposes

I have the Pocket 2 and the Insta360 x3 and since a few updates ago the x3 videos are looking much better. I think the software doing a 4k upscale to the 1080p exported videos. I use the cam for filming on my motocycle. For that purpose the Pocket is not usable. Also the gimbal modes need trainging. The DJI Mimo App has to be side loaded on android and is not as good as the Insta App. If you can live withe the image quality of the 360 cams, go for the x3 or x4. So much more usecases. More like record and forget. No fragile gimbal etc. and of course a better deal pricewise.

Hi, that is a good comparison you made. Thanks a lot! I do have a specific question, though. My girlfriend and I are preparing a trip to Thailand. I am in a wheelchair, and we would like to make some videos about our traveling experience and the way we handle things from a practical point of view. We would like to get a portable camera to complement my Sony A7 IV, to make some more action-oriented footage easily and on the go, without having to deal with complicated technical issues. I am considering adding a quick-release system to the back of my chair to mount the camera, so I can record instantly when something worth filming happens. I thought that maybe the ability to reframe after capturing could be useful, so I’m considering the Insta360. However, I’m also thinking about the fact that having a gimbal could be useful , especially when my chair is moving on uneven surfaces. Another thing to consider, I suppose, is the fact that we'd like to post on social media and shoot vertically as we're invited by platforms like Instagram or TikTok but we'll probably do longer videos in the end in a more traditional, horizontal orientation combining action-camera videos with Sony A7 IV recordings. It seems to me that in this sense, the Insta360 could have the edge because you can capture first and think about the orientation afterwards while it has to be decided before shooting with the OSMO pocket. One last thing to consider is the fact that I have a smartphone Gimbal and an iPhone 15 Pro, so I suppose using the iPhone to capture would give me as good a recording as I could get using the Pocket 3. So maybe the Insta360 would be a better complementary addition to my setting than the Osmo would be. It’s pretty obvious that low-light footage should and will be captured using my more professional-oriented camera, so I guess that won’t be something to consider. What would your advice be, considering our specific concerns?

Hello. I used to have a GoPRO hero 7 but got damaged. I used it to take pictures and record videos whenever I travelled. Not as an action camera for vlogging, but mostly for taking videos and photos. I edit them casually for my personal files. I consider action cameras because they are light and waterproof as opposed to a normal camera (my mobile is a very old one). Therefore, I am looking for a recommendation of an action camera for a non-adventurous traveler. I would really appreciate any input. Your vids are helpful for someone like me who's not a camera person or an editor, at all. I'm a machinist, with a KZbin channel, so I just want to take good video. I bought the Pocket 3 a couple weeks ago after watching one of your vids and I abso-flippin-lutely love it with all of my heart and soul. lol. The only "issue" I've found is that I have to be very conscious to not beat the living breaks off of it in the machine shop. It's a harsh environment, and it feels a bit like this camera wasn't really designed for such unforgiving environments. just have to be careful though, so it's not a big deal.

Great video, but comparing apples to apples, the Insta360 X4 generally blows away the Pocket 3 by far keeping the highlights in check while just about every shot and everything on the DJI has blown highlights despite the bigger sensor. With good lighting the image out of the Insta360 is far more pleasing. In low light, sure the DJI performs "better", though if you really want good low light performance, then just get yourself a real camera and lens.

The image quality of the pocket 3 is way better than of the X4. If you have over exposed videos, then you have to turn down the EV. And it's not, despite the bigger sensor, it's rather because of the bigger sensor that gathers more light than the tiny X4 sensor.

I hear ya, as long as you know what you prefer, then that's 95% of the battle. I love both the Osmo Pocket 3 and Insta360 X4 for different uses.

Even it did not shoot 360, I would still get the Insta360 because resolution is king and it is immediately noticeable and the lack of it cannot be compensated for (except with AI-upscaling). OP3 has the truer colors but hey the viewers do not know what the original colors were. OP3 also performs better at low-light but one could compensate for it when using Insta360 by shooting a bit earlier when there is more light, by using more lights or by making the video brighter in post-production. For everything there is a solution, except for the lack of 360 and partly also for the lack of higher resolution (unless maybe with AI-based upscaling)

Im planning to do Cinemaic shot too with the ace pro Would you still recomend it? What do you think of film it without eis in lowlight and then stabilize it in gyroflow So it would have less jitter movement? Cuz its in motion data

@@MlleVB over a 360 camera, yes. Ideally for cinematic you’d use the normal lens and not the wide angle. However, you can still make it look cinematic with the wide angle. You’ll just raise the shutter speed to slow it down a tad get that smooth footage. Only reason to use a 360 camera would be 1. Action sports where you can’t frame the shot because you are focused on the sport. 2. You want to film in every direction. I have the Insta360 One RS 1” and i barely use it because 360 cameras its just not ideal for anything other than the two scenarios i mentioned. Plus, you can normally tell very easily if something is shot by a 360 camera because of the warping, which doesn’t look very cinematic in my opinion. I think the Ace Pro 2 is an excellent choice for you.

Cinematic real estate indoor videos 2. Travel 3. eveyday use for architectures project What i need: - smooth stabilization, indoor some low light situation - great hdr sensor cuz low light room with bright window usually the case - super wide angle for indoor use What i think it can work for me - so EIS usually works bad in low light situation but i found using gyroflow with my avata 2 can work great cuz it uses motion data Thats why im thinking of dji action 5 or ace pro 2; they both can use gyroflow - im actually also interested in X4 360 camera cuz it has WIDE angle lens= better EIS But it dosent able to use gyroflow and bad lowlight sensor and not too great for making cinematic - it got me thinking! What if i use gyroflow with dji action 5 pro / ace pro 2 so i can get better stabilization, no jerky EIS in low light, wnd also wider angle Please help me on this 😁

Curious for some feedback! I have a zv1 with a crane m3. Contemplating the P3 just for a more compact option. Then the creativity of the X4 seems interesting. I have a sport dog that is shoot content videos for. Curious of the x4 is better and continue to use the zv1 or is the P3 a game changer?

Hey man, Before providing a recommendation, it's important to clarify your specific needs: Portability: How important is a compact size for you? Features: Do you require specific features like stabilization, audio recording, or slow-motion? With a sport dog I would assume you would. Content Type: Are you primarily shooting action videos of your dog or do you need versatility for different scenarios? Budget: What is your price range? From what you've told me lets break it down... ZV1 with Crane M3: Pros: Great image quality, good stab, and compatibility with various accessories. Cons: Can be bulky for some applications and heavy after a long day shoot - I know because I had that exact setup. Osmo Pocket 3: Pros: Extremely compact and portable, excellent stabilization, and features like tracking. Cons: Smaller sensor might limit image quality in low light but honestly, not that bad. Have you seen my Osmo Pocket 3 cinematic shots video? Insta360 X4: Pros: Innovative features like 360-degree shooting, stabilization, and creative editing options. Cons: Can be more complex to use and may require more post-processing. Let me know if all of this helps on your journey -Joe
