For your motionlapse just hook up small batter pack. Something like an Anker. Also you can get a 16x9 on the device by simply selecting 4:3 or 16:9.

A Powerbank will give plenty of extra power. I leave mine connected on longer shoots. Only shutting it off to let the device cool down every so often. Great review!

16:9 is available in the menus, as is the ability to focus on the background or the subject ie you when Vlogging. You could also add an external power brick to extend the time lapse ability beyond 2 hours.

Watched the whole thing. it was pretty easy to watch because you shot this video well. the scenery, style and approach was just great. You however didn't show the panorama and the other remaining little features like what other hardware can be added to the osmo pocket to give it extra functionality. e.g mic, zoom wheel and the likes. I soon realized that plugging the Osmo Pocket into my phone was the same as using an OTG cable to connect my remote controller (for my Spark) to my phone. Now I leave the WIFI base on my Osmo Pocket all the time...so when I'm using it I simply need to turn on the app on my phone & ...voila!

You do not need the phone for those extra features. In fact, you can only do hyperlapses without the phone connected. Swipe left fo see the features. Active track works on 4k too (just not on 60 fps). Using a mount attachment or the wireless mount (dji) will allow you to charge the device while doing those long motion lapses.

Motionlapse works just fine without phone attached as shown in the video :) Hyperlapses are something slightly different. Active Track however is only available if you have your phone connected - not sure I'd be able to use the tiny screen to tap/drag/mark an object to begin with

I love my pocket. However, just using it heavily for the past couple of weeks, low light produces noise. Also, the underwater housing gives a bogus perspective meaning, holding it straight, the gimbal shoots higher than the what is seems while underwater. Plus, with the small screen, it is so hard to see what your shooting underwater... otherwise I love it and I love the wheel accessory!

There are good deals on the Osmo pocket now, with the Pocket 2 released. I picked up the (original) Pocket a week or two ago, AUD$419 (Aussie $), they are now $399 ! (Officeworks online). I have a Osmo Pocket charging case coming (Xmas present), should make it much more useful, and I think the PolarPro tripod case and folding tripod kit is a must for on site time / motion lapse. Plan top get the PP tripod kit after Xmas, ebay stores seem best (AUD$53 with discount code).

I found that fully extending my arm while in selfie mode I come in crystal clear. But I did have some trouble with the focus especially in the macro shots but also I found it to sometimes automatically adjust while filming more of a landscape and the stuff in the foreground blurs.

This is a cool little unit. I don't like how the battery is not removable though. It seems that you may want to carry a battery bank with you. That's not a terrible thing because all that would still be smaller than other cameras with gimbals.

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM....using the cellphone adapter. The phone thinks that the Osmo Pocket is a power source and the cellphone will end up draining the Pocket's battery. This is my biggest frustration with the Pocket, next to things not being in focus when you think they are.

I think the new DJI action camara (just announced) with advanced stabilization makes the Osmo Pocket somewhat obsolete (same price too). They're competing with the GoPro 7 at a slightly lower price point.

I have the new Dji Osmo Action and the Dji Osmo Pocket. The Osmo Action has been very disappointing. Its a good action camera, but the Osmo Pocket is far superior in my opinion. Most of my recent vlogs on my channel have been made with the Pocket.
