Nicely done guys. A few comments: Lost connection between drone and phone? The phone doesn't get signal from the drone, it gets it from the controller. Easiest way to lose connection is to face the antennae away from the drone, or fly too far, or if something like trees block the signal, or if you fly around conflicting signals. Battery life a few years ago was 10 minutes or less, still is with some small drones. Take a minute for a reality check: Pull out the battery and lay it next to the P3, now imagine that tiny battery powering something that big plus camera and gimbal for 20 minutes, then say "Wow, that's amazing!" You will begin to get how amazing that is. There are immense hurdles in extending that to 30 minutes. The controller case is plastic... oh right, you were expecting wood? Steel? Prop guards, are they OEM DJI? I got some on Amazon where the guards are separate from the clamps that do screw on the arms and take up almost no room. Guards slip on with a snap and come off in seconds. Red on front, white on back. By now you probably know about range extension mods like ALFA and ITELITE and ARGTek that allow ranges like 4000m. Surprised you made no comment on the software. Good drone choice, I got the same. Thanks for a cool video.

Great review guys! I've had my Phantom 3 Standard for about 2 weeks now and love it! I think you nailed all of my observations as well. I definitely don't need a 4k camera, but will say that if I had known just how easy the Phantom was to fly prior to purchase, I may have spent the extra for an Advanced given that it has Lightbridge, a transmitter with dedicated buttons for the camera, and more options for filters etc. For $499 though, cannot be beat!

thanks for the nice review. I just bit the bullet after 1 week of hard research and decided on the standard for now. The 4 is what I would like but want to make sure I will use it therefore I just ordered the 3 standard and should receive it in a week or less.. Listening to your review made me feel confident in my decision

Ren Ren actually the weight and size of it really helps in strong winds to keep it level.

Relink the remote and reset the wifi connection, that will fix the range issue, this problem came with the last update. Just relink the remote and reset wifi.

You probably need to register it for safety and then let your dad fly. These are really big and expensive. You probably don't want to waste your money on something if something goes bad.

+madearisp sorry for the confusion, you can film 2.7K at 24fps and 30fps but not 60fps, you can however film 60fps in 720p, our mistake

+Jeffrey Kim You can fly it without registration but if it gets lost or stolen, then theres no way to track it, you legally can't fly commercially even with a registration, you have to apply for a Section 333 Exemption from the FAA which is a bit of a lengthy process, but necessary if your looking to make profit

+Jeffrey Kim Check out this article on Wired: www.wired.com/2015/12/drone-register-list-faa/ I wasn't aware until I looked at this that it depends on the drone, for our Phantom 3 Standard and really any other DJI drone it has to be registered. Luckily, registration take 5 minutes and costs $5, hope this helps!

really good videos, one thing to perhaps make them more watchable is use the word 'super' less. It was getting a bit much 3 minutes into the video. Regardless, super video :-D
