27:15 yeah, the Pocket 3 was at 100% battery because the battery module was providing power to keep it charged all the time. This is working as expected. Battery will drain with time, doesn't matter if you're using your device or not. This applies to all eletronic devices such as smartphones, tablets, Kindle, cameras and, well, Osmo Pocket 3. So the battery module was constantly charging it to keep it at 100%. Anyway, great video! Loved every second of it.

These tips are gold, and thank you so much for doing them. And yes, the selfie flip should be a monitor flip only and the camera should always record in the correct perspective. I've had this discussion with the developers at PRISM Live studio and this is not an isolated situation. it's much more natural to talk into a camera when it looks like a mirror because as you said, that's what we are used to. I would love to have my own image as a mirror, but have the video record in the correct perspective. Maybe a firmware update? who am I kidding! DJI listens to no one! My magnet does fit into the case while it's attached to the clip on the microphone. Just put the magnet towards the top of the clip.

Here's the transcript: 1. **Dual Charging**: Plug the battery handle into the Pocket 3E and use a dual USB-C cable to charge the mic and the Pocket 3 simultaneously. 2. **Larger Clip Limit**: The Pocket 3 allows recording up to 17GB before splitting the clip, unlike the Pocket 2, which split at 4GB. 3. **Weather Caution**: The Pocket 3 is not waterproof, so take cover if it starts raining. 4. **EV Meter Adjustment**: Swipe from the right to adjust the EV meter while recording without diving into deeper settings. 5. **Switching Video Compression**: If h.265 is causing playback issues, switch to h.264, but be aware of restrictions like losing the ability to shoot in D-Log M, HLG, or 4K 120fps. 6. **Joystick Back Button**: Press the joystick once to act as the back button in menu screens. 7. **Wide Angle Lens Storage**: You can store the Pocket 3 with the wide-angle lens attached, but the gimbal head won’t lock. 8. **Continuous Recording Tests**: Inside: 50 minutes in 4K 25fps before overheating. Outside: 153 minutes until battery depletion. 9. **Joystick Gimbal Control**: Press and hold the joystick to lock the gimbal, double press to center, and triple press to rotate the camera. 10. **Wind Muff Care**: Store the mic properly to avoid damaging the wind muff. 11. **Using iPhone 15 as Power Bank**: You can charge the Pocket 3 with an iPhone 15, but the Pocket 3 needs to have less charge than the iPhone. 12. **D-Log M Restriction**: You can only shoot in D-Log M in normal video mode, not in low light or slow motion. 13. **Rotating Horizontal Videos**: If a video appears vertical but was shot horizontally, rotate it 90° in editing software. 14. **Auto-Recording on Screen Rotate**: Enable screen rotate and capture to start recording as soon as the screen is flipped. 15. **Mic 2 Controls**: Start/stop recording and enable wind reduction using the link button on the Mic 2. 16. **Active Track Positioning**: Use the joystick to move your position within the frame during active tracking. 17. **Glamour Effects**: Enable and preview glamour effects via the Mimo app; they are not visible on the Pocket 3 itself. 18. **Dual Audio Recording**: Record audio separately on the Pocket 3 and Mic 2 by disconnecting the two devices. 19. **Gimbal Head Orientation**: Set the gimbal head to face you upon startup if you’re mainly vlogging. 20. **Screen Rotation Settings**: Adjust the screen rotation to control how quickly the Pocket 3 powers off or stays on. 21. **Lens Cleaning**: Clean your lens before shooting to avoid unusable clips due to fingerprints. 22. **Shooting Orientation Settings**: Control whether the screen orientation dictates the shooting orientation or not. 23. **Face Track in Selfie Mode**: Turn on face tracking in selfie mode to keep yourself framed while moving. 24. **Original Mic Compatibility**: The original Mic 1 works with the Pocket 3 but needs the receiver plugged in. 25. **Avoid Finger Blockage**: Be mindful of where your fingers are to avoid blocking the microphone. 26. **Pro Mode Mic Settings**: Adjust which microphones are active by enabling Pro Mode. 27. **Quick On/Off with Record Button**: Use the record button to turn the Pocket 3 on/off without twisting the screen. 28. **Selfie Flip Mode**: Selfie flip mode mirrors the entire image, not just your face. 29. **Joystick Speed Adjustment**: Adjust joystick speed in settings if you find it too fast or slow. 30. **1:1 Aspect Ratio for Instagram**: Switch to 1:1 aspect ratio for Instagram posts, but note the resolution drops to 3K. 31. **Mic 2 Storage in Case**: Store the Mic 2 in the hard case by removing the magnet if needed. 32. **Custom Presets**: Save custom presets for frequently used settings to switch quickly between them. 33. **Connection Issues with Mic 2**: Enable audio-to-video sync to record audio internally on the Mic 2 as a backup. 34. **Battery Handle Drain**: Disconnect the battery handle when not in use to prevent unnecessary battery drain. 35. **Mic 2 with iPhone**: The Mic 2 can connect to an iPhone as an external mic, but it may take time to connect initially. 36. **Accessing Settings While Recording**: You can adjust certain settings, like screen rotation and gimbal speed, while recording. 37. **Fast Charging Time**: It takes approximately 23.5 minutes to fast charge the Pocket 3 to 80%. 38. **Mimo App Connection Reset**: Reset wireless connection settings to help connect the Pocket 3 to the Mimo app. 39. **Quickly Dismissing Notifications**: Tap on notifications to dismiss them immediately. 40. **Avoid Corrupting SD Card**: Wait a few seconds after stopping a recording before removing the SD card to avoid corruption. 41. **Using Joystick to Change Modes**: Switch between shooting modes using the joystick instead of swiping on the screen. 42. **Maintaining 4K in Vertical Shots**: Hold the joystick to lock the gimbal and rotate the camera to maintain 4K resolution in vertical shots. 43. **Swipe Up for Additional Menu Options**: Access additional menu options by swiping up from the bottom of the screen in shooting modes. 44. **Low-Resolution Previews in Mimo App**: Previews in the Mimo app are in low resolution until you download the files. 45. **Normal Speed in Slow Motion Clips**: Speed up parts of 4K 120fps clips by 400% in editing software to play sections at normal speed. 46. **Active Track for Dynamic Shots**: Enable Active Track for dynamic shots without needing a second person to operate the camera. 47. **Real-World Battery Life**: Real-world usage gives around 2 hours at 60% brightness, but only 1 hour 20 minutes at 100%. 48. **Firmware Update for Image Adjustments**: Update firmware to access noise and sharpness adjustments. 49. **Slider Button Functions**: Use the slider button on the screen to control either zoom or gimbal head movement. 50. **Accessing Pro Mode**: Enable Pro Mode to adjust advanced settings like ISO, white balance, and color profiles. 51. **Using ND Filters**: Use ND filters to prevent overexposure when adhering to the 180° shutter rule. 52. **Adjust Mic Gain**: Adjust mic gain levels in Pro Mode if the audio is too low. 53. **Battery Handle Fast Charge Time**: It takes around 50 minutes to fully charge the battery handle. 54. **Checking Battery Percentage**: Tap the battery indicator to see the exact battery percentage. 55. **Adjust Gimbal Head Speed**: Change the gimbal head speed for different types of videos, such as cinematic or action. 56. **Using DJI USB-C Cables**: Use the DJI-supplied USB-C cables for reliable charging and connection. 57. **Face Track Only in Normal Mode**: Face track in selfie mode only works in normal video mode, not in low light or slow motion. 58. **4K 120fps Only in Horizontal Mode**: 4K 120fps slow motion can only be shot in horizontal mode. 59. **Using the Pocket 3 as a Webcam**: Plug the Pocket 3 into your computer to use it as a webcam. 60. **Mimo App Low-Resolution Previews**: Previews in the Mimo app are lower resolution than the actual footage; download for full quality.

To be honest at first I wasn't sure as this is the first time I've watched one of your videos. after about 10 minutes in I actually found you really good ,some of the things I've learnt from your video I haven't found them anybody else's. you're very clear and what you say and you also put in a bit of humour in which is brilliant. There is to many KZbin videos out there which are boring , you come across as a person who just "say it as it is" with the a little mistake here and there who cares that's all part of the entertainment and getting the message across which is brilliant . the magnet actually can sit on the mic inside the hard case , it just has to be in the top side , I was also confused about this at first but actually it fits pretty well

11:37 one can also let them be connectet and then activate the Backup Audio inside the pocket 3. In this way the pocket 3 records the Audio of its internal microphone in an audio file and the Audio from mic2 in the Video file and the mic2 is recording its Audio internal if activated.

Thanks so much for this! Though I do want to mention that I've learned 1:1 is no longer the optimal ratio for IG, vertical 3:4 or 16:9 is because it doesn't allow for other posts to be seen on screen along with your post. Not sure what the use cases are for 1:1 anymore.

It's been a few days after I bought the Pocket 3, and I've been trying to learn how to use it (this is my first DJI product ever). So there's still some things I'm unclear about. This video has been SUPER helpful in explaining all the little tricks I need to know how to use the device! So glad the algorithm recommended me this video. Thanks so much! My one question is, did you shoot all your clips in the default color that DJI has or did you shoot in D-Log and then color graded in post? I love the colors from your selfie mode footage while you were walking on the trails. Apologies if this is a silly question

Pocket 3 uses the eXFat file allocation system which has a capacity to address files up to a maximum file size of 16 Exabytes! So DJI have imposed their own limitation here. The old 4GB limitation was the limitation of FAT32 file allocation table (system).

I will have to watch this several times to learn all of these tips 👍. Checking the sd card on a pc there are d.lrf and d.mp4 files, the d.lrf are the files used to preview on mimo app and are almost 1/10 the size. When setting pre-sets does it save an ev change ? It dosent seem to for me but when I set record to standard video setting -1ev is set. Lots to learn. 👍

haha yeah there’s a lot of info, take ur time 😎 as for the presets, it doesn’t save the EV number to it so you’ll have to adjust that each time to what u want it to be

Question on your charge times - what wattage charger are you using? With fast charging in the new Osmo cameras, your times seemed long, longer than what I see with a 60W charger. My Pocket 3 just went from 56% to 100% in 15 minutes or less.

Keep in mind, square mode, even though it says 3k, has more resolution than 16:9 4k. It’s weird but the 3k square (3072×3072) is higher resolution than 4k 16:9 (3840×2160)

That because the sensor is square and you are using it all in square mode.

60 tips! Thats plenty🙂 About the DJI mics, were you able to get the original Pocket 2 wireless mic to work with the P3? Selfie Flip mode. Great video thanks for creating. Quick question. I used to overcome the Pocket 2 overheating by removing the do it all handle and plugging in a lightning to usb c cable from pocket 2 to iPhone, using the iPhone as a monitor via Mimo app. It allowed me to record without ever getting an overheat, even in extreme heat. However, testing on the Pocket 3 with same method it doesn’t work. I think it’s because the Bluetooth is now built into the main pocket 3 unit (unlike the 2 where it was in the do it all handle) I’ve not found a way to turn off Bluetooth and it seems the usb c on the 3 doesn’t support video out like the 2 did, which is shame.

How are you recording the POV shots where you’re holding the Pocket 3 in front of you and we see your face on its screen from your perspective? Did you record the *audio* for both the POV and Pocket 3 selfie-mode shots on some other external audio recorder? I can’t figure out how your audio is consistently the same as you switch between POV and selfie.

so those pov shots were taken with my Sony camera, I had an external mic connected to me throughout the whole video to keep things sounding consistent when I switched between pov and the vlog style shots

James tip for you to avoid your camera falling over next time ... pop in to a Fishing Tackle shop and buy a 6 inch bank stick and then ask for a bank stink camera adaptor (Gardner Tackle) and bob's your uncle your camera will never fall over again :) I use it all the time when filming time/hyperlapses :)
