I finally succumbed and bought the Pocket 3. It's a pretty amazing gadget. I used your link and navigated to a 4 filter kit, so hopefully you still get your cut.

Hello, is it possible to switch off the Pocket 3 with ND filter still on the head, i.e. is the filter small/thin enough that the head can move properly to move in its parking position? So far as I know from user manual the wide angle lens is to big / thick
@JakeSloan Жыл бұрын
it is but the camera will "park" the opposite way since it has a filter on the front, there is not enough space for it to close the normal way

Great video with an explanation. I want to understand if the Freewell VND filter is the lens, is it allow the gimbal lens in the default position (or restrict to moving the gimble head) when the power is off?

fantastic review. I would like to know if all the scenes were captured with OP-3. I'm just curious since some of the footage appeared to be from a drone.

yes some of the demonstration footage was from a drone to show the difference between ND filter and no nd filter. I tried to label the shots and what camera they were shot with etc

Hello, thanks for your interesting video and thanks to share it. I need to ask a question please. I only make documentaries in 4K 50p on sunny days. Since it doesn't make much sense to use an ND filter with high framerate and Automatic Exposure, I was hinting to buy a CPL filter and always leave it on, without removing it. I like an image that is a little more contrasted, crispier and with more colour. I use D-Log M, do you think I'll get what I want with CPL filter? Thanks

Hello Jake. Which filter is best for daily vlogging during the day and night? Thanks!

I don't use any filters at night but during the day I use usually an ND32 or 64 if it's a super bright day

Would be cool if Freewell can make stackable filters somehow. That way you can use the wide angle lens with an nd.....or make wide angle lens with nd into 1 filter so they are not stacked on each other
@JakeSloan Жыл бұрын
these are technically stackable... and I HOPE a wide angle lens/anamorphic lens is coming

Good video on that big pack of filters. If the gimbal doesn't park fully closed, can it be safely put into the case that way?

you will need to take the filters off to put it away but the camera will go in the case with the gimbal parked either direction

Do any of the Freewell filters allow the gimbal head to close when the Pocket 3 is turned off? I ask because knowing me, I might forget to remove the filter(s) before turning it off (d’oh!). I want to avoid damaging the Pocket 3, so your thoughts here would be most welcome. Thank you!
@JakeSloan7 ай бұрын
It won't damage the pocket 3, the pocket 3 will sense the filter there and park the head the other direction. The only filters I have found that can stay on the pocket 3 are the K&F filters in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4TYeqBqeNice7M

Hey Jake. Good walk through on ND and othee filters. I tend to buy them. Many of them, but higher altitude shooting benefits little from slow shutter the way shooting closer to ground, trees, etc does. I like having a high stop value ND 512/1000 for hyperlapse of cars, day and night, and I like the occasional blue/gold streak filter for establishing shots or a single reveal. Even star filters can add something different to the mix, but generally only for a single shot or transition. I'm that guy who will even try a GND now and then -usually questioning my life choices when I do! Ive found CPL, NDPL and UV mostly not worth the effort. Getting polarized light to work for you takes more patience - and skill... than i possess. Thanks as always!

With the Freewell ND filters, does the gimbal go to the proper location after shutting off the Pocket 3? I have filters that hit the backside and won't close right.

You will need to take them off if you want it to go to the parked setting: otherwise it will act like the wide angle lens is attached

When you turn off the OP3 with 1 filter on; does not allow to close to original off position. Some people may not be bothered by this i’m certain. Other brands are thinner and allow to get back to off position with 1 filter on.

Nd filters are indeed needed but sadly you can't close the camera with the filter on it... DJI had to make the U arm a little bigger. Now before putting the Pocket 3 off you need to take off the filter... I don't know with you guys and girls, but I put it many times off and on and it is quite annoying to take it off all the time (if not forget).

What are the best quality for pocket 3, cpl and nd filters. Dji, freewell or polarpro?

Quick pocket 3 question - is it normal to see the MP4 files in real poor quality? I upload them into premier pro and it looks amazing and full quality, but the video player files really bad. My pocket 2 does not do this. So weird.
@JakeSloan Жыл бұрын
that is strange and not an issue I have experienced. is that after exporting from premier pro? You may want to check your export settings if it is
@willmierisch Жыл бұрын
@JakeSloan So this is only during sorting the files on windows media player that they look so bad. It's also frustrating because when they look this way, I can't tell what is in focus etc, when I put them into premiere pro, the files looks perfect and after export there is no issue either.
