You can sometimes pick these up off eBay as non working for under $50 and if you're lucky, they're trivial faults, I got two of them in case I needed spares from the most broken one, to get the least broken one working and turns out one was just making bad contact with the battery grip and the other had the battery discharged to the point that the battery monitoring chip had locked it out and just needed manually recharging and the chip resetting. I've paired mine with a Canon EOS M running Magic Lantern, and being a lightweight camera compensates for the heftiness of the Ronin S. Love this budget setup to bits!

I still love this gimbal the most - it's durable and feels sturdy...getting a pole extensionand tripod legs is a must though as it's a little heavy!

I've got the ronin sc and had a RE shoot to do and realized my rsc could handle my 50mm lense with my canon rp but not the weight of my CRP and my 16-35mm lense. So now I have to see if I should move to the ronin S to support the weight.

the ronin s is good enough. You would save so much money, just buying a Ronin S used. The battery life is similar to the RS2 and most of the other new features of the RS2 aren´t that important to me to spend hundreds of dollars more.

I've been using this gimbal for tons of gigs for a few years now since getting it used for $300 CAD. A quick ROI calculator tells me ive made 42,566% off of using it for video work. Definitely still haven't needed to upgrade it yet.

With the firmware update I can use my sony a7iv and it goes into portrait mode. I got the Ronins S pretty much brand new for $200 on offer up. I'm new to the gimbal game and didn't go all out because idk how often i'll really use it. Only reason I wanted the SC2 was because it shoots in portrait orientation without having to be in flashlight mode- but I can live without needing to please the instagram algorithm.

@@OrangeJungle For me being new to gimbals- it's perfect. Steady footage, large payload, and holds charge for a long time. I would recommend it. Only downfall is that it's heavy.

Great video but a lot of people need to realize that it's very very very risky when buying used gambles because most the time the motors are completely crapped out because the previous owner didn't know how to balance it, right

so, i have xt 30 and some lenses, i think about ronin sc as a first gimbal because it is quite small and light and i want it to use it mainly during trips, no commercial stuff. what do you think about this idea? ps: you didnt paste link to car commercial :)

The sc is definitely a great option if you’re looking to keep things light. I recommend the ronin s or the RS2 for weddings and commercial grade work because they are capable of handling whatever we mount on them. It’s really up to you overall what you think will work best. Hmmm 🤔 have you updated the firmware and calibrated the gimbal? Sometimes calibration has helped me when that happens on mine.

i have one too, jitter or shaky footage is "normal" i tryed a log of configurations, camera setups and calibrations and sometimes works beautiful, sometimes can be a trash gimbal. Tried submit for dji a lot of tickets and I was never answered, I had a problem with one of the screws on the roll, which had no replacement, but I managed to fix it in a simple way. But like every good dji product, this one was so they could test and then launch a better product, which was RSC, S2 and now S3, very common from dji. Before commenting, I tested my equipment that I had a certain problem with ronin-s on other brands like zhyun and moza, both worked perfectly. But at the time I spent a truckload of money, despite the regret, I couldn't buy from another brand because my budget was already committed to other accessories

Sounds like too much weight on the back end, I suggest balance first the horizontal front and back of the camera body, 50mm is very light position the 80d closer to the front, that way motor won't have much stress. I suspect you didn't balance it properly. I have the 80d and that setup too but with 18-35 it can also cary 24-70 but pretty heavy.

What do you think of the canon r6 mark2 for video? People say it is IPB only and that it sucks due to that. Is that true? I need a camera for video.

I am actually planning to get this camera next year! I haven’t seen anywhere in the specs that it’s IPB only, but the truth is IPB can still work for video. Biggest advantage is it’s a smaller file size. And because it has built in h.264 10 bit in 4k, I don’t think you’ll see much difference in the image if you were filming in IPB or All-I. I’m typically filming in IPB anyway and the 4k image still looks great to me!

I need it for weddings, and I do know I will be moving around instead of leaving it standing for a whole hour. @@royaltykidstvAs far as 10 or 12 bit, the greater the number, the more colors you’ll have in each pixel which helps you when color grading. As far as frame rates, are you planning to film cinematic type films? If so 60 frames per second can work for when you’re moving around a lot. Some might tell you 120 frames per second as well but that’ll slow down your footage more than you really need.

@@royaltykidstv The 12 bit is only available if you have an external monitor like the atamos ninja V that offers external recording. The R6 mkii has built in 10 bit which looks great as well! If you’re only filming weddings and church events, a full frame mirrorless camera with frames rates of 24/30/60fps in 4k will be plenty! Avoid cameras with 8 bit. I prefer a more cinematic look but if you film in canon log, you can add various LUTs over the image to give you different styles in post production.
