Well, what I meant is that it's an awesome feature. I'm sure they're working on smoothing it out and making it more reliable, DJI is constantly updating the Ronin series with new firmware, so the feature itself is "AWESOME", the fact that it's not 100% reliable at the moment, well, that sucks. Let's hope for a firmware update soon!

I tried it again last night, it was working much better, still lagged a few times but generally much better after a recent ios update. It’s such an awesome feature, and control of every axis is great!

Hi! Would like to ask: does your focus/zoom setting/pulls work? I cannot configure my controller/iphone to make it work in autofocus.

Hi! I haven't actually had a chance to try it, but I believe it should be similar to my follow focus film, make sure the lens and camera option is in Manual focus mode. I'll give it a try later and see if it works.

it works fine until I try to give it a focus comand then it makes my m50 completely freeze and I have to take the battery out to get it to shut down

Hi Phillip, thanks for your video. I connected it to my Samsung Note 9 and had the same problem but on my Iphone 7+ it works perfectly. It's weird.

That is weird. This is working a lot better since it was first announced, the pad works almost perfectly now.

Did you have any connection problems with the previous version of the App? We haven't seen this during our tests.

No, with the previous version everything was perfect. Only after this update features started to lag, not only the Xbox controller, but most of the other options too in Create.

@@PhillipSkraba This is strange and it seems like a connection issue with the Ronin-S and the phone's bluetooth. Have you tried to forgetting the Ronin-S in bluetooth settings and rebound?

Hi Juan, are you using the v2 xbox controller? The v1 doesn't have bluetooth, I found that out the hard way and went and bought the v1.

I would love to update my iPhone 8+, but it generally works fine and I'd rather spend my money on camera gear 😂 I did funnily enough go out last night and re-test the xbox controller with the Ronin-S and I have to say it works a million times better now than it did last time. 20m max range in line of sight and smooth as butter. Arthur Kallinen Tmi The Xbox controller works really well now after a few fixes, and it has 3 axis, so that’s really awesome. I recommend it!

@@PhillipSkraba I believe it is still too laggy tho, also the universal mount allows me to power the ronin with a vlock and ables me to mount it straight to the wood (Now I have super clamp and the battery grip makes it be a bit too far fomr the jib causing unbalance)

I believe any PS4 controller will work. When it comes to Xbox, you'll need the v2 controller, if you do a Google search you'll see the subtle differences between the v1 and v2. The v2 has bluetooth built-in. Thanks for dropping by!

I've tested it to around 30m with a good, reliable connection, as long as you keep you phone close to the Ronin-S 🔥

Another gimmick by DJI... It would be better if they make an actual working wireless remote for focus pulling... wireless pan, tilt isn't really that helpful

I use the Tilta Nano Nucleus for pulling focus as I like to be able to use it off the gimbal too, this is a really cool feature though, being able to control every axis is pretty awesome.

@@PhillipSkraba It would be really helpful specially on car mounting or a porta jib with a non handle shaped ronin s battery... but that is not really something we use all the time... I just hope they work on remote follow focus more cause a solo operator isn't enough for focus. specially when they placed the focus wheel on an awkward position

@@marcelouribe8631 Hi Marcelo, is your sons xbox controller version 1 or version 2? Only version 2 has bluetooth capabilities. You can tell if it is version 2 or 1 by the X on the top of the controller, if it is smooth around the X and part of the pad then it is version 2, if it is black plastic surrounding the X and separate from the whole controller, so two parts, it is version 1. You can do a search online to check.
