11:19 white balance needs to be clicked on area with information, preferably gray (total blown out white wont have any info in it for the app to balance...) Your shoots look really good, the resolution looks amazing, how do you archive that almost 4k look with the spark? is it sharpening techinque? Thanks.

I have a Spark too and watching your videos I noticed that I was shooting my videos wrongly!! (You can watch my error on my channel haha). Anyway thank you for your cinematic tips! Also at 5:43 Your Home Point can be your drone’s location before taking off OR IT CAN BE where ever your Remote Controller IS! The later is highly applicable, especially whenever you are moving along with drone path of flight like in a car or a boat or on a bicycle. Anyway, great vid mate, very informative!

Another great video! I'm just about getting one. I'm just amator photographer and I wanna just something that will take aerial pictures. Does it camera make pictures as high end smartphone or something better? Of course I'm not planning do prints of it but use it online. I'm stretching my budget for this one and not sure if it will be complete waste of money.
@FrancisDarracott7 жыл бұрын
I think it's great for photography. My girlfriend uses it a lot for photography. I would say it's as good as the top end smart phones. It will be a good investment. It's not so much about the technology, it's about what you actually shoot. Hope this helps dude!
@danimarie73807 жыл бұрын
The quality is 1080p, which is the highest this youtube video will go. It's 30fps and when you're high up it looks a little grainy, but that's just me being nitpicky. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it for professionals, if you really want to get into drones I would recommend the phantom or the Mavic, but if you just want to use it online then it should be perfect! (I'd recommend the fly more bundle, it's almost impossible to operate without the controller)

Nice! I like the style of your videos. You take your time and actually teach people something... :-) One note on editing: I always watch out for audio levels between sound and music. The difference between camera audio and the music can be as high as 12 dB, that's what I had to pull down in my videos so far. Because I don't like it when you have max volume for the talking and the sudden music blows your ears off because it's too loud. Just a reminder... ;-)

Range on spark in EU is a pain in the ... i really wish it had more intelligent flight modes like POI as trying to film big objects flying around is very hard with manual control. Happy with the camera, but more setting in video mode would be appreciated so its easy to match with other footage from other devices.

As a tip make sure when you are flying Spark in front of you that you have the back of the antennas facing Spark for better range. Only have antennas flat when you are flying directly above

Alot of people list the lack of 4k as a con, but if the Spark did shoot 4k; it would actually be a con. It does have a 4k sensor and shoots in 4k, but the firmware consolidates it into 1080p. The reason for this is, if you ever editing a video in 1080p and add a 4k clip, you'll notice its very zoomed in and you have to set the scale of the 4k clip to 35% to show the full frame. The Spark shoots in 4k and zooms it in to then be 1080p because its stabilising the footage as your shooting it. Due to its weight if you were shooting at a height with even the lightest breeze in 4k, your footage would be incredibly shakey and alot harder for the average person to stabilise. That would be a much larger con for the majority of people interested in getting this drone as their first drone purchase. As said in the video, its about what you shoot that matters, not the quality. A 1080p shot of the Ciffs of Moher at sunset is still going to be breathtaking, the same shot in 4k but shaking all over the place and the sunset looks like a nuclear explosion wouldnt.
@JoeSmith-jw8bj6 жыл бұрын
Another tip: The Spark doesn't have sensors on the back ( as far as I' aware ) So if you want to have a pull back shot and you plan it, get your shot with no cars driving, people walking, or the sea moving; and go forward in motion. Then when editing, right click the clip in the timeline, go to 'speed and duration' and click 'reverse speed' This can be better because you can start from far away and start recording at the view you want captured, then go foward and its easier to to align and pick the angle you want. It can be hard to fly backwards to reveal the composition you want, so starting it on it and then flying inwards and reversing is a cool trick starting out to getting better shots. Another tip for anyone who'd like to have slowmotion but can't afford a drone that shoofs in 50/60frames and would like the Spark. Look into a plugin for Premiere called " Twixtor" its a bit pricey too, but overall cheaper buying them both than a drone that does shoot in a slowmo frame rate. And you can use Twixtor on your DSLR clips too. It basically slows down your footage artifically by adding the same frames and you wouldnt see a huge difference. Look up comparisons to see. Its easy to use too. In your timeline, clip on the clip you want to slow down, Ctrl.C to copy it. - right click " Nest " - open the nest and paste the video at the start of the nest 6 or 7 times with no gaps. - exit the nest by going back to your original sequence, go to 'effects' type in 'Twixtor' and drag it onto your clip. - then click your clip in the timeline, go to effect controls and scroll down on the twixtor effeft until you see " speed " change it from 100% to 50% and then drag your nested clip as it is in your timeline to be twice the length that it currently is. Now your clip is 50% slower and smoother as if it was shot in a higher frame rate. This can also be used to make up for a lack of high frame rates on dslrs, so you can fake 120fps and even do the same if you own a drone that shoots 60fps, can make all your footage that bit more cinematic, slowed down, stabilised and professional without breaking the bank too much by investing in equipment just because it shoots 60-120fps. If anyone has any questions let me know would love to help and it may sound complicated but it's quite simple once you start

@ 5:23 I agree! You need to make sure you set up RTH (Return-To-Home) right before you fly and understand it's use and function perfectly well! The way it works is often disregarded by drone pilots and caused crashes. READ THIS LINK CAREFULLY: store.dji.com/guides/how-to-use-the-djis-return-to-home/
