Dudes of Paradise! Great to see Edo on the channel, it was a great visit! We love to have visitors out in Hawaii, come on out and sling some cardboard

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your content. Old school magic reminds me of my mother that passed. She was always super supportive of any and all of my hobbies. One xmas she even managed to score me 4 lake of the dead. Excellent channel!

She gave me rides every weekend to go to tournaments too. She was great. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my comment.

Strangest thing is that the attacker doesn't notice this, since the four power of the Dandan is the reason that an attack is possible (or at least good).

Def cool of them to play game three! Aggro def didnt get good draws in the first two to strut its feathers, and even w the misplayed air elem, fish deck still won.
@hermodnitter39022 жыл бұрын
19:30 until 20:10, isn't this against the rules? Wouldn't going to attack phase empty the mana from mana drain, thus making it only possible to Braingeyser for 1? Leaving mana open during attack is a big advantage, and the Braingeyser had to be cast before the attack to draw five?
@TimmytheSorcerer2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you are absolutely right. He should've used the geyser before combat.
@hermodnitter39022 жыл бұрын
@@TimmytheSorcerer yup, crazy that the opponent didn't notice. Should be 4 damage due to mana burn instead... (if they use this rule for old school)

would have loved to see some serendib efreets and old man of the sea to make it a true djinni deck! maybe a bottle of suleiman lol

My guess is they confused the toughness of the Air Elemental with that of Mahamoti Djinn/Serendib Djinn which would not have died. It makes sense as more creatures in their deck are 5/6 then 4/4

Spellblast is subpar and the better Power Sink also doesn't work if you're playing a blue curve deck. On the other hand, the deck with lots of land and ramp can play the Power Sink very well.
@TimmytheSorcerer5 ай бұрын
The problem with power sink are my opponent’s moxen 😩 on the other hand forcing the opponent to tap out on his turn also has its value
@zethrenbeltran40713 ай бұрын
Arent those played just cause there arent any other counterspell available in oldschool?
@Rorschachqp3 ай бұрын
@@zethrenbeltran4071 No. Almost no one played Spellblast. In actual 1994, often times Power Sink was better than Counterspell or Mana Drain.

@@Rorschachqp i believe in this meta w lots of moxes, blast maybe the better tempo play
@Rorschachqp3 ай бұрын
@@zethrenbeltran4071 That thought crossed my mind many times but I dismissed it each time. This only works if you go first, which is 50% of the time. And you have to have a blue source, and it only works the best turn 1. Power Sink is better because it works more often and forces a player to tap out their lands.

Mr. Tim, Sir, you kinda missed the Ancestral Recall at the beginning of the second game? Or maybe my ears stopped working for a second...

The only good way to get rid of a Mishra with Blue is a Psionic Blast IMO.

Solid answer for sure. Although I’m always jealous at green’s crumble and of course the Bolt in red, they seem like the most efficient solutions. Not to mention white, they bath in answers 😅

You can def play budget in this format. I have made a mono blue deck myself that did great at several tournaments. I would start with looking at the re-print sets, Revised, Chronicles and 4th Edition. So many fun decks to make!

@@TimmytheSorcerer fair enough, though I don't see how that can stand up to fast mana and draw like Moxen and Ancestral

Last tournament we had a green/black deck underpowered in the finals, and another mono green deck in the top8, really cool to see decks like that do so well 👯♀️
