I started in '97 because a friend of my older brothers decided he didn't want to play anymore. He gifted us all his revised cards, I lovvvved it! Mono green revised was probably my first deck.

At 20:44 you should have taken the 8 damage. Vesuvan's upkeep ability to copy creatures is a triggered ability. So is the upkeep of Force of Nature. Once activated or triggered, an ability exists on the stack independent of the source. During your upkeep both triggers would go onto the stack, in whichever order you choose however, regardless of that order the 8 damage trigger will still resolve unless you pay four green mana.

So the turn I change it into the force I immediately need to pay the cost or pay 8 life. Good to know 👍

I'm pretty confident that you can't circumvent the Force of Nature upkeep cost by switching your Doppelganger to Llanowar Elves. Both abilities trigger at the beginning of upkeep, and no matter how you order it, you will have to take 8 or pay GGGG.

I enjoy these revised games more than Old School. The lower power level allows for some back and forth play instead of someone getting a good opening hand and unleashing a nuclear strike right away.

Fun deck. I started during revised so this takes me back. Red and white were my favorite colors to play. I do wonder of air elementals would be better than the Djinn's. They are still flying, outside bolt range, and come out at least 1 turn faster...getting to 6 mana reliability on turn 6 can be challenging with only a single mana accelerant in your deck (sol ring). Also, I remember trying to run a lot clones in a deck and often had them stuck in my hand or had to copy a crappy opponent creature. I wonder if winter orb might be good in that deck since most of the countering is 2 mana.

I agree with you Matt. Orb is great with the mana shorts and power sinks. Also Air elemental would work great here. Phantom Monster could also be interesting 🤔

That Mono-Green deck is similar to one I got smashed by earlier this week..Instill Energy comboed with Force of Nature is very Stompy. As for the Mono Blue deck...4x Mana Shorts with zero Psychic Venoms? C'mon Timmy 🤗🤗

I started around 4th Edition. I am bummed that some of my better cards got swiped due to unfortunate circumstances.

Namely: UL Scrubland and Volcanic Island, UL Sylvan Library, and Reflecting Pool and 2x Wasteland from Tempest. Without getting into it I saw my cards at my local comic shop and waited until I had money to buy them back from them, and when I finally had enough funds they were gone forever. So something like $2000 just gone. 😵‍💫😖

Unfortunately, with card prices the way they are they bring out the worst in some people. Wish we could go back to 90s prices. $10 for a dual already gave them that special feel and there's really no need for them to be more expensive.
