When my brother died, this music brought me some small measure of peace. He wept, so I didn't have to.

The sound of the duduk is one that engulfs your heart in sorrow, and yet fills you with hope at the same time. It's one of the most beautiful sounds on earth.

@@floramonkoff3807 Djivan Gasparyan's Armenian duduk was the feature instrument in the opening track, "The Feeling Begins". A spectacular beginning to an outstanding soundtrack/album, Peter Gabriel's "Passion". It was my entry point to Gasparyan's music, & to one of my favourite instruments on the planet.

The duduk or tsiranapogh, is an ancient Armenian double reed woodwind instrument made of apricot wood. It is indigenous to Armenia. Variations of the Armenian duduk appear throughout the Caucasus and the Middle East, including Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Turkey, and Iran.
