been using the ddj400 for 6 months. rekord box has improved pretty much. initially it was a pain the a** but i don't miss serato now. 😊😊

I have owned both controllers and prefer the REV1 over the DDJ 400!!!! Better made unit and love the bigger jog wheels. The DDJ 400 feels cheap to me, so that it why I sold it.

Only started around 2 months ago and got the DDJ200 just to see if I could pick it up as I've been big into music for 20+ years. The progress I've made is fantastic but I have the DDJ400 and a laptop arriving today as there's so much more I feel I can do now. The DDJ400 was the choice for me as further progression and upgrades in the future like you say in the video everything is basically in the same place on the DDJ400 as the better versions of pioneer equipment. Why I didn't take this up a long time ago was a massive mistake but onwards and upwards 🎵👌

@@djkit absolutely love the DDJ400s night and day between them and the DDJ200s done a tech trance mix 1 hour 10 mins and recorders a video for once usually only done audio. Turned out that well I've started a KZbin channel, have the mix up with a thumbnail and about to do a happy hardcore mid 90s mix. I've still alot to learn but a few friends that are DJs and done some big clubs here in Northern Ireland and one of them even Ibiza they're telling me you wouldn't think im a complete beginner to this. I knew the basics and have an ear for music and good vocabulary of music across most genres. Im feeling good right now even if I will only ever be a bedroom/house party DJ it's still making me feel great. Will get watching some more of your tips and tutorials thanks for the reply.

Excellent Comparison Review on these two great controllers I like them both but the Rev1 is quite a bit less than the ddj400 here in the states. I like the layout of the Rev1 better. Thank You!

Thanks for the informative video. I usually use cdjs and also have the xdj rx model and I love the USB features but just got the rev 1 for Christmas from my wife and learning how to DJ using a laptop and serato

Hi Lorenzo, thanks for your comment! As the REV1 id MIDI mappable, it is technically possible, but to be honest, I would always advise using the controller with the software that it's made for, or you may lose a lot of the features!

I pickup the rev1 and I already have serato pro for my newmark ns7 'll my question why can't I get the rev1 to work on my serato pro.on serato lite ask me to upgrade to pro when I already have pro.

Unless you purchased or subscribed to the license on its own, you only get Pro when your NS7 is connected. It's the hardware that IS the license.

I hate the play button placement on the Rev1. It makes using it with a mouse ridiculously annoying, because you accidentally hit pause when you reach for the mouse real quick.

Both of them are good but rekordbox is for beginners while Serato is for pros and long-term use however, don't use the Serato DJ lite pls upgrade to the pro version

@@juanroa468 well bc the lite version limit too many features(like instead of using 8 pads you are limited to 4 pads) compared to rekordbox, which is free right out of the box Both of them had monthly payments, but Serato had the option to buy for $199. For me, Serato DJ lite and rekordbox 5.8 is good enough. When u have skills then consider an upgrade. :)

Just fort the Rev 1 as a backup to my rev7.. ezxcellent little controller.. I opened the box…SERATO lite sucks if your used to SERATO pro.. but besides that.. very fun controller.. I’m gonna do a lot of content with the rev 1… simple and fun

But the 200 doesn’t have a sound card to plug directly into speakers. You would have to use the iPad speakers… I was told to get 400 for the on board sound card to plug directly into speakers through audio out

Either one of these controllers would be perfect, but we would recommend the REV1 if you want to concentrate a bit more on scratching etc!

Let’s say you just want to play a set list before you start DJn like for background music before the party starts. Are there aux or cd inputs to play through controller?

Neither of these controllers have an aux or CD input, only microphone inputs.

Maybe hook the controller up to a 2 Channel or 4 Channel mixer, which would allow you to connect additional devices into the input Channels.

@@sergiostars1463 There are several brands to choose from. You’d have to do the research based on what you’re looking for. I personal use Mackie products in my setup. I stick to compact gear because it’s easier for me to travel with.
