it's a shame I couldn't get better video of the retrobrite process. Filming at home was not easy and I had no way to wash and clean at my workshop.

i enjoyed these video's i had an atari 65xe in the 90's tapes were so so slow! and if there was a slight damage to the tape like a tiny crease it would bugger up the tape and it was unusable. i got a disk drive and some cartridges eventually but those had to be taken care of even more than cassettes. its good t hat we can preserve history being able to use alternative power supplies and use sd cards. i remember my power supply broke i did open it but as you know they are potted so all i got to see was resin or whatever it is. so when my power supply died on me back in the day i had to find a new one which was difficult in the 90's as it was going out of fashion then

finding new PSU, leads and storage options for retro computers is a lot easier at the moment, we are very lucky so many people develop new ways all the time. Thank you for watching :)

Great result. I just wish you had a better step by step for the retrobrighting specific chemicals and process. That would have been very helpful to me.

Really nice result, Lee! So you put the keys in a bath with cleaning product and a black light on top?
@DJlegionuk4 жыл бұрын
it's a bit more complicated than that. I cleaned them in my ultrasonic cleaner first and then used a heated water pump to heat up water to 50C. I then sealed a bag with clear peroxide solution and put into the water bath and used a grow light to blast with full spectrum light, this process bleaches the plastic. You can also do this with cream peroxide and just the light. search for Retrobrite from 8 bit guy, Retro man cave or Jan Beta for a more complete guide I used.
