I bought the DJM V-10, but had to put it away for a while until Sreato DJ Pro has a fix, they say, that it's coming soon. so for now I got out the old DJM900NXS2 and I'm using that instead, and yes the V-10 is a beast.

Basically, Pioneer figured that people like me owned the Xone 92 and loved its four knobs. Then they realized that having an Isolator like the Rane MP2015 was a must. So they created a very bloated pioneer mixer that has all of these things. Personally, I still like the Rane MP2015 most.

Lol using the isolator to “tune the room”, you’re in the DJ booth, behind the main rig. You have NO idea how the room sounds. You’re just going to end up fighting with the in house engineer who will just correct that EQ on their FOH console
@geoff05554 жыл бұрын
You know it, and the isolator has quite an aggresive +9db gain as well, hope you can lock it down to +3 or +6 in a firmware update. There are going to be a few blown driver incidents once the compressor gets cranked as well and there is no sound engineer onsite.

Isolators began as simply unsummed crossovers for the sound system on Jamaican dude's rigs... who owned the actual whole street rig. And yes, compressors are very dangerous for drivers. Word of advice: disable any compressor/limiters on any mixer where you can disable them, and try not to let mixers on your system where you can't.

Tread carefully people. A compressor is a powerful tool. In the hands of tool it will destroy everything you hold dear. The DJM-V10 is pioneers first mixer you DO NOT want to buy as a consumer. In the hands of rental companies and clubs this might be an addition. If the Dj has enough knowledge concerning what to touch and what features to stay far away from. I really feel for the schooled audio engineers. Its gonna get ugly.
@dsquareddan4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. And the audacity of DJs in this video to claim they are going to use the Master Isolator to tune the room, when a DJ is standing behind the actual main rig and has NO idea how the room sounds. Engineers are going to be fighting the EQ of this thing all night
@arend36694 жыл бұрын
agreed, what if some dude wants to 'up' the guy before him and cranks compression on the mix with already heavily compressed modern tracks? It could become the very new "if you ain't redlining you ain't headlining" sortof thing... The vast majority of DJs aren't audio engineers and I have a feeling the bass knob will be turned maxed many times...
@happens46564 жыл бұрын
In the right hands, a compressor is great if you're trying to mix a bunch of old disco and newer house. But jesus, you know a bunch of very stupid people are going to ruin it for everyone.
@cashmasters994 жыл бұрын
I feel like the DJM900NXS2 should have the compressor sometimes because I would be playing disco hits like ABBA and Gloria Gaynor and they are so quiet. That being said theres dubstep DJs that will abuse those knobs lol
@denb.92144 жыл бұрын
The compressor on the DJM900nxs2 is located in the color , sweep and noise FX settings.
@Reticuli4 жыл бұрын
That's why you don't wanna be a dummy and run all your other tracks to the top yellow if you're going to be running old disco tracks. Know how to manage your gain structure so you have room for dynamic tracks to go. People now want every track peaking the same and to have the same RMS. Bunch of dopes feeding the loudness war BS.

i would love this mixer but the truth is that the price tag puts it out of reach of most DJs. It's a mixer for the elite. A smaller version (less channels) with very similar features at a MUCH lower price would dominate the market from the competition. The truth is that a Xone will sound as good for way less money. A Denon will have fantastic features for way less money. I'm very interested to see where pioneer are going though because i think the key to them keeping the likes of Denon taking the crowd in the years to come is giving great club worthy products (sound & features) at affordable prices, something they have lost. Shame because Pioneer gear is great!

Paul, yes, a Xone-96 will cost close to a 1000 less. However, what if you get a Xone 96 plus an effects processor like an Elektorn or a Pioneer RMX-1000. Now add 4 guitar pedals, including a compressor module, and how much does that cost then? That's what the DJM V10 is. People really don't know what the capabilities of this mixer. I've owned it now for 2 months. Played on it for 4 hours per day. I'm not even close to mastering it.

@@Gunner11763 If you haven't gotten the DJM V-10, trust me, it will be both a positive and you will be overwhelmed with its ability. It took me a week to understand it's layout. I've never been this excited about any mixer. It's that good.

The key to further baffling the masses about what a DJ does (and what a DJ doesn't have to do anymore) is to use unattainably expensive hardware. The cats been out of the bag for decades now - track selection/exclusivity is the _only_ thing distinguishing big names from one another in the skill department these days. It's a shame because I am passionate about the music and I really do love some of these DJs on show here... And I know a lot of them did the hard yards in collecting vinyl and learning to mix properly and were a part of the raw aspect of it all - but the industry is a complete and utter scam and rife with fake posers hiding behind expensive equipment - I know the DJs have gotta pay the bills somehow but it's been at great cost to the art and culture of the music.

pioneer Dj was sold in 2016, I'm a DJ here in Brazil, I have a Djm T1 and it had a defect, technical assistance I found UMA, and they charged me for an ABSURD in the repair, in short I lost the device, in social networks the PIONEER DJ is beautiful, in reality is uglier than hunger.
