Ahead of his time. It’s crazy this is 1991. Quik had the flow pattern and produced his own shit… honestly a force in the industry. I played this and they didn’t even know it was a 1991 rapper but knew it was a throwbackish beat. Timeless flow.. a straight Gfunk Roger Trautman/David Blake enhanced 2021 Quik album would get my $. Dj quik is the only rapper Alive besides Dr. Dre that are from Compton. I have lots of respect to DJ Quik because he never sold out. Respect to him unlike Dr. dre he went mainstream and also went his own way. Dj quik didn't let the money changed him. He still produced great records and till this day he still keeps it real. He hasn't changed from his style. He went from rags to riches and still keeps it real like if he was in rags which you don't even see from rappers in this day.

Quik, the Ghetto Boys, Too Short and Doughy Fresh was the business in the early 90’s on black college campuses. Those were the best years of my life!!

You could turn his music up loud and it would sound even better , crystal clear. Bump it in your ride , bump it on foot, with your box , it didn't matter , it would sound good.
