Great news! It always makes me very happy to hear any news from TATA. I am very proud to have worked for a TATA company (not in the airline industry). I wish Air India under the TATA to be hugely successful and should become the best airline in the world.

I travel frequently by Air India but i am still not happy with their punctuality. For domestic travel, Akasa has never disappointed me. Their planes always take off On Time (at least from what i have experienced)

by 2033 the full service flag carrier should have a fleet strength somewhere between 563 - 746 narrow body & wide body jets . . . expect a wide body fleet made up of primarily AIRBUS wide bodies . . . for e.g. 58 A350-900, 26 brand new A350-900 ULR & 43 A350-1000 HGW (approx) . . . and Boeing's not to far off either, atleast 33 brand new B787-9 & 38 B787-10 (approx) . . .

It will be a good number of orders from Airbus to Air-India of A350-900 and also some A321-200 XL and also XLR, and this is not a small number of orders, it will be a good service provision.✈️

There are only so many planes in the leasing market. Quite certain the price is going to go up because of demand.

what stops airlines from just buying delivery slots and then sell them off if they don't need it?
@krishna_KaraokeZone17 күн бұрын
Even I have this question. But I guess there would be some clauses which doesn't allow that. May be huge penalties etc. If not any airline company could do that. Isn't it?

First, sell Boeing faulty MCAS software, then buy everything from Airbus. Cheeky.
@shlok.shrivastav18 күн бұрын
Right, because Boeing's management decisions to outsource work to $9 an hour interns instead of, you know, engineers are somehow Air India's fault apparently? Even if they outsourced it, the responsibility to check and validate software is still Boeing's and Boeing's only.

I agree with you. What is happening in India cannot happen on an economic basis. They are planning with figures that they will probably not achieve in the next 20 years
@chiad2518 күн бұрын
IMHO Pan Am went bankrupt because of their business model. After the deregulation in 1978 their, mainly, international network started to suffer because they didn't have a decent domestic route system to feed it.. Pan Am never relly had such a large fleet compared to many other large US carriers
