He didn’t offer Pac Death Row East… thats movie storytelling, I forget his actual imprints name (it’s been hella long), I know it started as Euthanasia and I think ended as Makaveli records but Suge and Pac connected to protect Pac from the A team and the government. Suge was able to shake the entire music industry with his connection with the Brims and other LA gangs causing more blacks to get paid and have power in the industry (before him, how many blacks had LABELS) and because of that he gets shitted on by the media (not to say he doesn’t have his faults). Pacs downfall began when he shot them 2 cops on Halloween 93… after that he his accused of SA 3 weeks later on Nov 18th. A year later he gets robbed and shot by the dudes who introduced him to the alleged SA victim… mind you they are the ones who grape the girl but all their trials are separated and dismissed. Then he gets sentenced a day after being shot 😂 look this shit up, see if I’m bullshittin’… he’s generated all this money for inter scope and can’t nobody bail Pac out? But Suge? Why Suge? Who was Suge to the artists? 😂 Malcolm once warned to be careful of the media cause they’ll have you thinking the oppressors are the oppressed and vice versa. The industry destroyed Suge and uplifted Puffy, until Puff overstepped his bounds… think about that

@unrivaledgamer12 жыл бұрын
I did some research on this to post this comment. I found an article by “The Ringer” that talked about 2Pac’s relationship with Suge Knight and Death Row Records. Suge had his eyes on Pac for years. The relationship began when 2Pac was paid $200K for a single song on the “Above the Rim” soundtrack. 2Pac was behind bars when his “Me Against The World” album was #1 but he went broke keeping up with legal fees and other expenses. 2Pac was signed to Interscope Records at the time but they distanced themselves from 2Pac due to the controversy. Interscope allows their subsidiary Death Row Records to sign 2Pac upon some serious paper shuffling. Suge promised 2Pac he would alleviate 2Pac’s legal and financial woes and even buy his mother Afeni Shakur a house. To further add to the deal and prove his loyalty, Suge Knight absorbed 2Pac’s beef with Puffy and Bad Boy Records. 2Pac signed a record deal, a $1 Million cash advance and cash for other experts for a 3 album for $3.5 Million dollars. I found a quote from Nate Dogg from the 2004 XXL magazine saying that 2Pac didn’t want to be on Death Row Records and the sooner 2Pac could push out 3 albums he would be free from his recording contract. It’s been talked about my many artists such as Snoop Dogg who worked closely with 2Pac that Pac had an unmatched work ethic in the studio. I believe this was partially fueled by releasing himself of that 3-album contract. 2Pac was loyal to Death Row to the degree of they got him out from behind bars. I’m sure in maybe a verbal contract he was to promote the record label and I’m sure did believe in Death Row Records wholeheartedly. 2Pac started a lot of projects in his career.. I found a website called 2Pac Labels that had all the info. What 2Pac started/invested: • Joshua’s Dream Corporation • Euphanasia • Non-Stop Productions • 24/7 Products 2Pac was 60% owner • Makaveli Records - Would have been distributed through Death Row Records • Out Da Gutta Records - Nothing past 1994 • Thug Nation - A music production company connected to 2Pac’s other publishing companies • Amaru Records - Started by 2Pac’s mother Afeni Shakur

2Pac wanted out because of the Snoop beef - along with other things - like feeling he was in the dark financially as to what he was owed in late August / early September. He wanted an audit and to know where he stood. And he was coming up on the royalty payout for AEOM. Suge gave him cash, a house, cars, jewelry, video shoots, etc but those were being put on 2Pac's tab - they weren't free. He loved Suge and felt loyal to him for Suge taking a chance and getting Pac out of prison when Interscope and everyone else basically said Fuck You to 2Pac in jail. They agreed on paper it was gonna be a short-term deal: Three Albums. And 2Pac was rushing to get the shit done and move on to his other creative ventures. By late August, Makaveli was finished; so mentally 2Pac felt was basically a free agent planning his next move. He said in interviews during Gang Related filming he was tired of Rap. Who wouldn't be as a versatile Artist after recordings hundreds of unreleased songs? I think Suge would've given Pac his own label (Euphanasia) with creative control but DR would be the distributor. Suge wanted Pac in Vegas so they could spend time together and work on moving forward. Suge gets painted as the "Hitler" of the rap industry. But I'm convinced that drive-by shooting on the Vegas strip was intended for Suge as well - if he wasn't in fact the primary target. Somebody(s) wanted Suge and Pac out of the way to take over a half billion dollar company in my opinion. It's important to remember how much Suge paid to keep Snoop out of jail too. Something like $5 mil total for that trial. Suge ain't gonna let his cash-cows just walk away. He's got enough sense as a businessman. Even Snoop wanted out of Death Row. He was only vocal about it after Pac died and Tha Doggfather flopped. Crazy to think if 2Pac lived... would MASTER P have come calling in 97/98? Percy was an even bigger baller in the business than Suge. Percy would go on to become the Donald Trump of the rap business.

Love every sentence of this except the part of the drive-by. It’s generally regarded as fact nowadays that Pac was shot by Orlando Anderson, a SS Crip who earlier that night Pac punched for stealing a member of DR’s chain earlier that summer in LA. Pure gang retaliation. Sad that such a star could be ended over some gang shit
@bassoonman20002 жыл бұрын
Spot on. I could see P buying Pac off DR then cutting him loose to do his own thing. Pa could've never rapped again and been just fine and Master P would've beena great business partner for movies since he was already in that lane as well.
@bernardcole49112 жыл бұрын
Just because Master P gave a shot out to Suge don’t mean Suge wasn’t bogus, Suge got what he needed and still was playing stupid games, he ain’t all that he would go to another black man Job, Mike Tyson and stomp another black man over a damn chain, it’s on video I don’t care about Suge accolades when he himself put himself in his own demise east coast west coast beef .. Suge was in that and it killed so many behind that
