I used hero editor to modify items as well as import items. One item in particular that i modified is Oculus because of that stupid teleport when struck because that was killing me more than helping me. So I changed it from 1 level 1 teleport to level 1 chain lightning. I used the Hero editor alot to create socketed weapons to create runewords of a particular base such as the rune-word Crescent Moon in a phase-blade because for whatever reason the d2 items that I downloaded online didn't have Crescent moon in a phase-blade. Alot of my builds used hero editor at one point or another but I grinded my characters to use the items and go through the game.

yea, setting your own rules as you play the game is fine. Some people like strictly self-found, others are more relaxed about it :) The 2 item packs I have also dont have all more know items/bases - One thing it they dont have is say Enigma in a mage plate, that sucks - Haft to create the base, make the enigma in-game on a modded D2 .exe, cause ladder runewords dont work on single player as most people know, and then change the stats on hero editor if I want perf defense etc :)

@@Djuntas I know of the people who like strictly self found items only. I am doing the Holy Grail Challenge to find all of the Set and Unique items. So in a way I am doing some self finding. Yeah I use PlugY which allows for infinite stash space and shared stash as well as Ladder Rune-words and Ubers as well. But it only works on version 1.13. The minor annoyance about using PlugY is that the big stash space isn't very compatible with hero editor so you need use the Cube and your inventory for importing items properly. So basically PlugY does the same thing as the modded .exe for Ladder Rune words but it also adds the ability to do Ubers and get the Torches and Annis in Single Player. But it is only compatible with 1.13 as I mentioned earlier. I use D2SE which is a mod manager for d2 and allows me to run older versions of d2 as well as the newest 1.14 version with only 1 install of D2.

@Djuntas when i click save like im done.. it says that thing i sended... It mostly happens on new chars like just loaded in.. there are like 3 files on these chars as character file.. so probably something to do with that... Btw respect for responding on a video 5 years ago

You can rename items, quit a bit in the edits, but not sure about color.

Hi, I am having trouble using Hero Editor. Every time I load a character, it says to set Regional language to English, even though it is set in English. Then it won't let me edit. Do you know how to solve this by any chance?

yea, in the menu you can do it in hero editor. Just play around with the program a bit.

Dont think I did? Else it was just ED dmg or something. Make the base you wanna use in "extra" tab.

Sorry doubt links are good here on YT, but I actually recently installed hero editor + my 2 item packs again, I just googled it - But be careful with dodgy sites, do a scan with malware bytes and keep windows and shit updated :)

Hey there, I've used Hero editor before on Windows 7 but now that I decided to try it on a Windows 10 machine it always gives me the "Class not registered. Need to install MSSTDFMT.DLL" error. Do you have a solution to this?

Erhm, not sure what causes that. Must be something on your end? Just install it on your C or D drive, and google some admin issues. Make sure you installed the right file.

Huh, I remember that calc. Yeah I think it's been missing from the net since at least the early 2010s. Only place I remember it was on Diablofans, but that was before they did a site-change like a decade ago, and any hope of there being a working link in the sites archives is gone because Dfans recently closed down. I'll dig through some old 4chan threads to see if I can find it, but I really doubt it. Shame when things vanish from the internet forever.

I found it actually as the video was all done :D See description haha, but yes it just vanished for me, until I did a windows search on the .exe file for user - Sometimes they add who made the program
