+ To Mana After Each Kill is very good for this build considering Lightning Fury kills large groups of enemies at once. It is available via Tir runes as mentioned or Silkweave boots, Lidless Wall shield, Rare Circlets, Rare Javelins, Wealth runeword armor, Que-Hegan's Wisdom armor.

I've played D2 since it came out and have never found ethereal Titans . I don't even know where I got all the extra hours to play the game - between working and everything else . But it is my favorite game and from a programming perspective - it was the most advanced computer program in design and offered all kinds of combinations for many aspects of its gameplay . You shouldn't use infinity as a reference, 99% of the playerbase won't ever have one. You can showcase the end-game potential of it but I'm afraid many newcomers will look at this guide and be disappointed when they realize they'll never afford it. I'd HIGHLY suggest not getting Valkyrie. At least not in the final build. The tank summon is nice but the Dodge/Avoid/Evade you have to unlock to get there keep the Amazon from doing anything when they happen. Made the game so much easier late game when I respeced out of of Valk and those skills.

Javazon is my jam! I’m always working towards my Java. Usually always start with Sorcs onto Hammy then when enough gear is built up I dive into strafer or Java depending on what gear has been found. With Java having such shit breakpoints and her skills doing much of the legwork I usually just focus on MF gear and +skills and I’m usually ok…. Barring it’s decent gear with MF. I’ve done fine with basic Shako, skulders, chanceguards, goldwrap and then a little augment with some mana/life leech since I switch out insight on merc for breaking resists as needed.

Your Icy Veins "Amazon Leveling Build" should be this one. The written guide on Icy follows it pretty much, the current written one has you starting as a Bowazon and doesn't match the video posted there. I mentioned this like a year ago. I guess nobody checked.

Yeah, for the frost maiden it mentioned a "generic bowazon" build, but then when you click for more information, the fadtest leveling guide is for javazon. It would be nice if there was a fastest version (javazon) and a bowazon one for others wishing to play through as a bowazon. Yes, i know it's not nearly as fast or easy, but some people might want it. Fyi, I typically go for about 10 in magic arrow with plus skills, and pick an elemental arrow, cold or fire. Get Valkyrie to 14-15 around nightmare so you have a reliable tank through hell. Physical bowazons require really good gear and lots of crushing blow (missile weapons take a CB penalty to compensate for range benefit) and life/mana leech. So I dont advise this for leveling. Edit: forgot to add 1 point in critical strike, penetrate and pierce. Then add points to penetrate and pierce as needed. You can always respec to reallocate your points in the 30s or later or respec to a different build.

stealskull + treachery + eth thresher obedience is a really good budget merc combo, you hit the mercs 55 ias speed breakpoint for attacks, crushing blow, good damage, life leech, fade, etc..

My personal pro tip, if you have full Arctic set, even if you're leveling java, it will carry you through act 2 + while you level javelin skills easy, and you can skip a respec that way too. Just rush strength and dex, use charms/rings to boost it if you got em, and carry stam potions until you can start dumping vit

Ive actually just finished my javazon with all the gear mentioned but I don't use a ravenfrost or a sunder since even without those two you're still fast enough if you pay attention to cold damage dealers and your physical damage is still high enough through lightning fury and charged strike that I use two life leech rings with resists that I could literally walk through any area with little to no problem and im only 79!

Regarding merc equipment and treachery armor. A tip for newer players. The buff from the treachery armor is powerful and lasts a long time. On hardcore character I like to put my mercs treachery armor on my character to get the buff. Then put the treachery back on the merc. When the buff is gone switch again. Sometimes it can be tricky to activate the buff but there are tricks to do it. For example you can stand in fire (if I remember correctly was a while since I played). Also enemies that attack very quickly are good for triggering it. Perhaps not something to do constantly but for harder upcoming fights it's nice. Also for hardcore of course.

@@SLlNKl Depends if you are pub farming or mostly solo. If you are solo then DOT AOE is far superior for speed leveling than high single target damage. Respecs while "once per difficulty" are common now that you can farm dusts for infinite respecs.

Yeah, I wouldn't use more than one respec for leveling. The other ones are too valuable for adjusting your stats and skills as you find pieces of end game gear. Yes, you can farm tokens but that can take a while.

Personally I will never make a lightning damage based character again until I'm certain I can make Infinity. I tried a light sorc when D2R came out because I had read that you can just use a lower resist wand until you get Infinity. Well, I tried that, and it didn't work for me at all. Something like 75% of the lightning immune mobs I encountered were still immune even after hitting them with lower resist. It's just not a good plan for a first character, something that can run 2 damage sources is much better until you start building some wealth and can make an Infinity.

7:20 important note: only the lightning damage will always hit. attack rating is still needed for phys damage. and pre-infinity it's pretty needed to deal with lightning immunes.

I really like these. In terms of shortening the vid - i am an amateur player and when you go over all those rings and unique helms etc it does not have much value for me. I understand when you say focus on life, dex, str. Some more experienced players may enjoy that, but making a video that satisfies rookies and experts and covers all that you cover while cutting it shorter may not be good for either of the groups :)

Why do ppl recommend avoid/dodge and evade which can stunlock you and increase your chances of dying, i would only spec in pierce tree and put the rest of the points in attack sinergies. Once you spec without dodge/evade and avoid you will never go back, many times i was not even able to attack because i was locked by recover frames. Such a long video and no mention of ias breakpoints which are marginally different between charged strike and light fury.

There's two things here I'd like clarification for. 1. There's a hot debate that Enigma is BiS > CoH because of FRW, HP after kill, high Str giving more vitality, and of course teleport if you need to readjust your merc position. What is your stance on this debate? Seems to be CoH. 2. Evade, Dodge. The classic animation bug. You get hit, dodge or evade activates and you get stuck in a continual loop of not being able to use skills or anything until you die. I've had this happen a few times and it really sucks. Of course, you sacrifice your valkryrie by not getting those skills but it seems to be worth it. What is your take on that? All your guides recommend getting those skills, yet I've also seen people quote you saying not to get them. Very confusing, those two debates as old as d2.

Most people would choose Enigma and I also did. Positioning of your merc is not something to be underestimated. CoH is easier made and cheaper. Evade and dodge can truly be deadful when you use teleport from Enigma. All depends on your build.

You often put a Call to Arms flail in the second weapon slot which gives you access to some barbarian buff skills. So you switch to that flail, cast the buffs, then switch back to you main weapon.

Why you need both poison javelin and power strike in the early game? Why not picking one and investing all the points into it rather than dividing the points 6/11 ?

I think the build necessarily all those steps while leveling, guess is best to actually feel how your char is doing. If you are doing decent early on, there is no need to spend points on skill you don't actually use later on, as the buff from synergies are a lot worse from a point invested in the used skill. For example investing all those points in power strike at the beginning is meh, I'd rather put only 1 point in it and get some passive crit instead.

Can we talk about how Lightning Strike is underrated? Imagine a Chain Lightning that gains one bounce per level. Obviously it doesn't quite compete with Lightning Fury, but damn if it doesn't perform well. I was super surprised with how strong it was. Also have they fixed the Fend/Avoid/Dodge/etc bug?

No that's not possible. But a long time ago, there was a map hack that had an inspect utility. You could actually see the gear the Valk was wearing! It was pretty neat!

Referring to the difficulty to obtain the item. For example, the runeword “Spirit” cannot be bought from a merchant but is considered cheap because of how easy it is to find the runes. The more rare the item, the more “expensive”

Everyone keeps giving so much praise to Treachery, so since my merc kept dying in Hell, I made one, and it was barely any improvement. Right now he is using a Duriel's Shell and he is a little bit more durable, but still not surviving. He has max resistance in Hell, but only with Duriel's Shell, Fire, lightning and Poison drop to 59% when using Treachery. I have read/watched tons of guides about mercs, with my sorc he's using Bill Insight(57-183) , Tal's Mask and Eth Duriel's Shell-975d(Tigulated Mail Treachery-186d before), but for some reason my merc does not stay alive.

Easiest fix for that is getting a better base weapon for your merc's insight, since his healing from the life leech on the helm scales with the damage he does. Try to get an eth elite polearm of any kind, and he will heal/do damage for like 5x as much as he does now, and sustain himself a lot better. (still have to babysit a bit)

Must be me being a very bad player, but hitting a BIG wall trying to pass thru act 1 of hell with this build (playing solo lvl 67). So many lightning immunes and merc dying all the time… 😩

Amazon's dodge/evade passive nodes was fixed in D2R? Otherwise Ama will get stuck periodically and stay with run animation.

I've seen leveling with explosive arrow is superior, then a respect at around 35~
