Any other recent steelers qb not named ben would NOT have got us back in a game down 17-0. Only reason we had a shot was because of justin...look what hes working with. A decimated o line, 1 wr (whos fumble was much more damaging), baffling coaching decisions & play calling & a rb who has the speed & vision of an old blind 3 legged dog!? Justin is the 1st steeler qb to throw for 300+ yards, run for 50+ yards & 2 rushing tds! If tomlin puts in russ now hes an idiot. Until the last 4 minutes of the third quarter, Fields had 140 yards passing, and generated 3 points while the Colts put up 17 and narrowly missed 3 more for 20 points. The Colts went into a prevent and Fields put up 172 yards and generated 3 scores against a soft zone while the Colts tried to sit on and pad a lead. Before this game, he's had 2 TD passes in 3 games and piloted the offense to 17 points a game, behind the number 1 defense after those three games. He's not proven anything yet, and without the defense they'd be 1-3 not 3-1.

My problem with the way fields is analyzed is that somehow his negative plays count more than the positives. He touches the ball every play. He was over 90% of the offense. Josh Allen comes to mind. He makes a lot of mistakes, but they depend on him heavily. Look at fields numbers since his volume has gone up the last 2 games. 5 TDs, over 600 total yards, over 70% completion. Behind a patched together Oline.

Did high expectations cause the mental errors?? This game felt like the Buffalo playoff game.. how our big playmakers uncharacteristically made costly mistakes, our elite D uncharacteristically got picked apart. Our defense was irrelevant to what Indy wanted to do on offense on their first few drives, we made a few costly mistakes, and yet we still got close enough to not be blown out. It was the Buffalo game... all over...same, same but different...we just had a better QB to put up more points, but it wont be enuf against good teams, especially in their house. I don't believe four games is enough for us to dub JF our future franchise QB. It seems that some of JF's bad habits are correctable enough to win a lot of games, possibly, but when the pressure of expectation is on and we don't have that elite D showing up, don't be surprised if his and other player's bad habits show up. The Steelers under Tomlin put all the pressure on the D and they do well with pressure. Our offense, does not. Maybe they need more practice under pressure. Disappointing to see but just noticing a trend with certain players that make same mistakes...Coach T too. Come on with that 4th down, Coach!! Such an unessessary, risky move and his challenges make my head hurt...his play clock mgt is questionable mostly. They should play Russ when healthy. I can see this team going 11-6 as is, they are a big improvement from last year. But they got work to do if they going past a first round of playoffs. See if Russ can do better with the guys we got. Going into next season, they should at least see if Russ can lead this young team to greater thing. Field still can't go a game without a snapfu!

I wasn't convinced about Fields until this week. He played efficiently before today, managed the game. Today he put the team on his back and almost pulled one out the team had no business winning. He's it.

Hi DK. I have a J1Q here. Regarding the egregious dereliction on the part of the officials not calling the repeated holds committed on TJ yet again. As of now, regardless of what Goodell and other league owners think, The OLB is still a position. The edge rush is still a function of the Defense. And holding is still called when detected everywhere else on the field on both offensive and defensive playeres. Are u aware as to whether or not Art Rooney has approached the league on this? Can he/should he use his clout to force the issue? Can ANYONE do ANYTHING about this??? Holding is a violation of the rules. It's cheating no matter who's being held. TJ's getting cheated out of results of his efforts. It is not fair and it's wrong PERIOD.

Zone Defence only works with a good line rush . The ability to react as team faster to your weaknesses and strengths . Let’s start next week with the heat on and the engine running instead of looking for booster cables. Come on Steelers where’s the GRIT !!! 🇨🇦

Fields is going to get better each week. He said it himself “So that’s why you can’t warm up to things.” That quote right there tells me he knows the play calling has to change at the start of the game. He is QB1 for sure.

Good stuff. With Justin literally putting the team on his back yesterday it gave me optimism that we’ve got our future QB that can do just that… the loss was still tough to swallow but that made for a nice Bandaid. Regarding the switch to Flacco, I instantly knew that was going to be a problem for us game plan wise. Typically when you get to the backup he’s not as good as the starter but in this case, it was the opposite. One note on blitzing Flacco more is that he is much better against the blitz as Tomlin noted so that is not a quick fix solution. I kept thinking he would give us one in some way, as he has done many a game, and he almost did with the 3 and out sack, but the snap situation crushed what I was confident in Fields marching the team down for a win or tying field goal at worst…

HEY DK, Let's face it Mike Tomlin doesn't know how to manage the Play Clock. Down by 14 points with under 7:00 minutes to go in the game and they were running the Play Clock all the way Down like they had the Lead!!! What's Mike Tomlin Problem and not being able to Manage the Play Clock and know when it's time to go to the Hurry up and not waist the time Away???? He does this Crap all the time especially when they score too soon and leave the other Team a good chance to Steal it away. Still think Mason Rudolph was better than these 2 QBS and why do we even have Russell Wilson when he can't even be ready to play, he's just a Empty uniform waiting a spot for someone who's able to play when needed!!!!!

Justin was the main reason we even had a chance in that game. I give him credit for that. If he's going to be our future quarterback then he's got to finish. When we absolutely had to have it, and he had a chance to really shine, it didn't happen. Great quarterbacks make it happen in that last minute. And you have to have a great quarterback to win the super bowl. Kordell Stewart could win a lot of games to, but he couldn't do it in crunch time. I don't want another decade of that.

Frazier snapped the ball early on that last drive. Fields looks poised in crunch time. This was good experience for a young rookie. He is very good and he will correct this mistake. Correction: after watching the botched snap again the left guard is watching JF for the foot stomp as a signal. JF gives the signal as they seem to still be setting up. The LG taps the C to let him know we're ready. JF is still looking over the defense. I think JF gave the signal as a subconscious habit. We need to break that habit. Without that mistake I believe he get us at least a FG. Every day this week with the center and LG, 100 times. 1. Walk to the line get in position 2. JF look at safeties 3. Look left and right 4. In the head say "IM READY". 5. Give signal. 6. Snap ball. We should be able to get 500 - 600 reps this week. Goal of 1000 reps. JF should also practice this 500 times on his own with visualization. Sorry for the mistake on Frazier.

Najee cannot see holes. 13 carries for 19 yards is not acceptable. It's not just this game either. He has only a 3.9 career yards per game average. You can't have that in the NFL, especially the way the Steelers like to run the ball. It's time to move on from Najee. Cordarrelle Paterson and Jaylen Warren should split the carries from here on out.

Fields played great for a team missing a few starters. The reason we lost was our center. He’s been making mistakes nearly every week since we started, small mistakes, but huge impact. He needs to work on his timing/signals on when to hike that damn ball so it doesn’t lead to sacks or the end of the game like against the colts. Good game to learn from all around!

Flaaco is really good against the blitz. The bears tried it last year against the browns and he was killing us. I think the big thing was getting off on 3rd down. It killed the defense in the 4th
