I love your show but I definitely watched a different game than you did. Steelers were outclassed in every way possible. JPJ was toast again. I didn't know why Tomlin is keeping Trice inactive when he has been a full participant in practice for weeks now. Tomlin made yet another weekly clock management blunder. 3rd down defense was non existent as usual. Tomlin punts the ball down big in the 4th because he believes in a defense that has not done sh*t all day only to have Philly expire an entire 4th quarter trolling Pittsburgh with a 98 yard drive while converting countless 3rd downs before having Mercy on them and taking a knee. All this and you like what you saw blows my mind. Again I love your show DK but wow. Just wow.

I mean you do realize who the eagles have on their d line right? That’s literally one of the best teams in the nfl and without that fumble we could’ve tied it 20-20 and it been a whole other ball game. We held BARKLEY to under 100. Offense moved the ball and made good plays. 7 point game until the fumble and to the Eagles credit, we barely touched the ball second half. Game was def close and a good one. 1 fumble changed everything and momentum matters. Eagles have the best team they’ve had and years and you remember last couple times we played them? We got blown out by the second quarter. Good game, oline did good against a great dline, and we showed we can play with anybody WITHOUT our best offensive player in Pickens and our best defender this year in Elliott.

If anybody gets the finger pointed at them for the loss, it’s the pass defense bc hurts was throwing dots all over the field. We’ve been watching this offense for a while now you really expected us to have a 30mins t.o.p and 30 points scored on a 2024 Eagles defense?

@SpinnDaReaper 13 сағат бұрын
@@robotfox1987 that I agree with partially, run defense was definitely there. Barkley a MVP candidate and although he didn’t play 2nd quarter we still kept him out the game which is what you get from the highest paid defense. Pass defense definitely could’ve been better and we have to get off the field on 3rd downs. But we also were missing 3 players on defense who’ve played big roles for us so far. And to be fair,Eagles offense is just as good as their defense and Jalen hurts is no scrub. Me personally I feel like we could’ve won this game, and that’s coming into the game w expectations of us getting blown out like the last few times we’ve played them. No loss is good but this one wasn’t terrible. Can’t win them all (ask the lions) and the game that matters is on Saturday 😬

DK I have to admit that I am probably a pessimist by nature. I did not come away from this game with the same outlook that you did. I saw an offense that struggles to move the football without George Pickens. An offense that has very few if any playmakers other than Pickens at the wide receiver spot. I see an offense who is not utilizing Pat Fryeormuth enough. I see a defense who continues to get gashed by quarterbacks. I see a defense who struggles to get off the field against third downs, whether they are short or long yardage. I see a defense who lives and dies on whether or not they force turnovers. In my opinion, we have yet to see the Steelers play a complete football game. They will not be able to go into a hostile environment in the playoffs in a place like Buffalo or Kansas City and win a football game playing the way that they play. Dan Moore, Washington, Pickens, and Porter seem to have a knack for getting 15 yard penalties at critical stages in games, game after game. The Steelers continue to run the ball on first down 85 or 90% of the time, The defense knows what’s coming. I can call the place from my couch 60% of the time, so you know the defensive coordinators know what’s coming.. They continue to play Harris in front of Warren, Warren is clearly a more dynamic playmaker. Lots and lots to clean up before this team can legitimately compete not even for a Super Bowl, but just for a playoff win

Getting tired of the personnel that is on the field 75% of the time. Mike Williams should be on the field as much as Pickens would of been if he was healthy. Williams should of been considered the #1 with Pickens out. Aside from the few handfuls of plays Jefferson has made (in the passing game) all season, he is a waste of roster space. IMO

I feel most of the offensive issues still come from the youth on the O line, and lack of playmakers at the receiver position . Most knew the insertion of this many young guys on the line would be problematic,as they grow and learn, but it will pay greatly in the future. They ran into an experienced , talented defense and it showed. That plus missing GP. Williams isn't the answer , I'm sorry he's not didnt like it still don't, and I hope he proves me wrong. Facing teams with multiple talented wrs is a glaring problem also. However if GP is healthy I feel they would have sustained better drives , keeping their offense sidelined, and possibly changing their defensive strategies. I cant feel too good about a loss, but I dont feel terrible about this one. Thanks DK! Here We Go Steelers!!!

Glad I listened this morning. It’s not like I felt like we couldn’t hang with the Eagles. I mean the game was so close when Najee fumbled. I love Najee and I feel awful for him. But it would’ve close and that’s without Pickens and Elliott. However I got to reiterate my “I told ya so”. All year I have been beating the get a good receiver drum in case Pickens gets hurt. And…here we are. But onward and upward!

You guys in the comments dont have realistic expectations. We’re not good enough to contend for a Super Bowl, we were never good enough to contend for a Super Bowl, and I think DKs reaction showed that as well. We were supposed to be last in the division, and we clinched a playoff spot, and have a real expectation to win a playoff game for the first time in years. Enjoy it. We have overachieved every year in recent memory. Enjoy it. We’re not the Giants. Or the Jets. Enjoy. It.

With all due respect, I saw not much positive here. The O line is still a problem, the defense could barely even slow them down, other than doing well against Saquon, and the special teams, the most reliable part of the team, was, at best, okay this game. T.J. was T.J., and thats really it. Philly was a measuring stick, and we are woefully short when it comes to hopes of competing for a Championship, in my opinion .Im not saying we're bad, and Im certainly not pretending that Philly isnt a goliath, but theres no reason to expect this season to go any further than maybe a single playoff win. Its improvement, for sure, and I'll happily take it, but I dont see a reason to get my hopes up.

It's been almost every week we've gotten into a cycle of ultraconservative play calling that only works against the terrible defenses in the first quarter of games. Then if not for a couple of turnovers our defense was about to get tired because they can't get off the field. Who's the stubborn one here, Smith or Tomlin?

DK, totally agree with your take, Philly clearly tried to punk us and we wasn't having it, I am so proud of little CA3 having Washington's back, the refs were gonna penalize us 15 anyway, Minkah blasted Saquon, special teams were smoking people (Mark Robinson for example) and the Linc was very quiet during that 3Q drive until the Najee mistake! We're not elite yet but we're a damn good football team! TEAM that is! BTW, awesome photo despite the fact it changed momentum back to Philly 😎

Assuming the Steelers are going to have to create cap space to resign Russell Wilson, they will have to give Najee Harris a lowball offer or none at all. I cannot remember a single memorable play he has ever made OTHER than that atrocious unforced fumble. I don't care he didn't fumble for the entire season up to that point when I can't ever remember him having even ONE 25+ yard run from scrimmage his entire career. Najee belongs in the doghouse for the week and he'd better make up for it in the Ravens game.

J1Q-DK you’re a legend, but I have to disagree they were completely dominated in every aspect… and it’s a continuous trend every time this football team plays the “elite” teams. it’s a night and day difference in coaching and talent disparity I feel.. how is this year ever not a clear Super Bowl window more then ever. Not paying a qb and the chiefs as vulnerable as ever. Is it wrong to feel this team is still far off from contending truly.

Wow we really missed george and elliott (& Larry O) Bad coaching both sides, bad play calling and brutal one sided refs - the refs took away potentially 2 TDs with the ridiculous no calls after slay & Mitchell were punching Washington in the head with a ref 2 feet away! Also the Jalen Carter smack to the head on conner was BEFORE the punt. Also that call on mon adams also bs -he was shooting the a gap and got pushed by the defender into the long snapper. We really need George back since I guess he is our offense. Personally I would have played justin in this game. That Najee fumble was the turning point and tomlins stupid decision not to go for it on 4th and 7 was the final dagger.

Well, there’s never a good time to take or discuss a loss but life goes on so let’s discuss it. Good show by the way DK and good morning. First thing that comes to my mind salary cap.. as Steelers Fan we need to be prepared to deal with GP’s behavior and we need to accept that this guy is gonna get paid either The Steelers are gonna pay him or someone in the in the league will. I think he’s got one to two years left before his rookie contract expires. Just be prepared for him to make some money. He was missed!!! JPJ is good, but he is no Joe Hayden. I’m not sure how this happened, but it seems like we have the expectation that he can just lock down any wide receiver. He’s not there yet. The reason I say this is because when AJ Brown was with the Titans, he wouldn’t do very much but then I started thinking about it. That’s because we had Joe Haeden guarding him. My last and final note/J1Q. Did it seem to you that maybe the defensive players was maybe just trying to save a performance for the Baltimore game? I’m sure you’ve heard worse J1Qs, but it really seemed like they did not want to tackle so maybe these guys are just trying to save everything for the Baltimore game next Saturday. do players really think like that? it seemed like they did not want to tackle. if you go back and listen to Tomlin’s press conference he said numerous of times it was more so the technical things and I agree with him.

The one stat flashed during the game that stood out was 2/29. 2nd in running attempts, 29th in yards. I sat there, watching the game, and correctly predicted 16 of the first offense plays calling run or pass. I understand wanting to be run-orientated, but man, you can't be THAT stubborn. And Najee's fumble isn't the cause for me, but I don't see him being re-signed.

In my opinion, I've felt that this team's ceiling is the conference title game. I feel if they play well enough, they can reach this game and be competitive. Last night, they showed that they have the talent to gain chunk plays, but they also showed they can't do it consistently enough to have their way with an opponent. The Steelers are better than they have been in years, but they're not true super bowl contenders. I'm just thankful that we have a team that looks capable of making the playoffs and winning a game, unlike the hot mess that trotted out onto the field in the past. It wasn't a complete train wreck last night and there a few positives to gain from it.

Dejan, I really love your positive approach to this loss, and frankly many Steelers fans counted this game as a tough one to win, mainly with the absence of Pickens. But here is one thing to again realize: there is no magic or fantasy on this offense nor a quality game plan than allows you not to use valid weapons like 88 but also Mike Williams, who as a veteran has the experience to face quality defense like the Eagles in contested and deep passes. Much of the offense rely on Russell experience to create under pressure, but seems Arthur Smith id not the one for a big challenge like the great Eagles Team. I'm not saying that we should beat clearly the Eagles, but looking at the time of possession is simply devastating. Don't follow this Ownership on why to keep this mediocre type of coaching staff forso may years and the years to come, 16 years without an AFC championship, 9 without a win in playoff and even more without a Super Bowl. What holds us to be better in all phases of the game ?. Warm regards Lazaro
