Hey, DK! I don't think Tomlin will play Russ at home against the Chargers. Tomlin had said last week that Justin was starting the Bronchos game and home game against the Chargers. Offense hasn't had a full week of practice with Russ. I just think Tomlin has already decided. However, if offense can't put up enough points this week to beat Chargers, and Russ is ready, I think that's when Russ takes the reins! Love all of your programs, DK!!

I think this game is Field’s opportunity to claim the QB1 spot. If he goes out there and is dominant through the air and with his legs, I wouldn’t bench him. But if we go into this game, and the offence is the same as the last two weeks, we NEED to at least see what Russ can do when he’s 100% healthy. And not be afraid to go back to Fields if Russ doesn’t have it anymore because he has proven he’s capable.

DK, the difference last year was that KP and Trubisk showed that they were terrible! We don't know what Russ will bring to the team yet. It's not good for the culture to not play Russ since he was previously named the starter. If Russ plays and stinks, then he can be benched and go full steam ahead with JF.

I think Justin Fields has been efficient. He's protected the ball. He's done a lot of things well. But I don't think he's been good enough yet. I don't think he's done enough to take that job away from Russell Wilson completely. I still want to see Russell Wilson under Center for a few games before I decide how I really feel. here may be an interesting thought. Russ has dressed as "emergency back up " , which means to me that he is healthy enough to play. I understand that older players with the type of injury he has, tends to result in an Achilles injury if he stretches a weird way. So Maybe Tomlin is happy with Justin as QB1 and having Russ as a back up plan. Hell, I would think Russ would be happy to sit and make the league minimum and collect his check from Denver for the year, and just sit there and keep the pressure on the young guy while mentoring him at the same time. I is my belief that Justin will remain the starter unless he messes up.

Ever since we traded for Justin Fields I have hoped he would arise to QB1. I think Russ could have won the last 2 games too but Justin has a much higher upside for the future. Russ’ injury has given them an opportunity to see what they have in Fields. The jury is still out but he definitely has a higher upside than Russ. They are also scouting QBs heavily. The starters are the starters until they prove that they can’t be starters or aren’t healthy enough to start. Contribution is the standard! If you prove that you can contribute to the success of the team then we will continue to ask for that contribution. If you can’t contribute we will give someone else a chance. We're lucky we didn't play a legit team on Sunday because more then likely we would of lost on Sunday with all those penalties and the lackluster second half effort by the offense. As of now we rank 25th in scoring. We got bye, because we played one of the worst teams in the NFL with an elite defense. If they do this again this week, it will be a double digit loss vs the Chargers. Praise his completion percentage all you want, scoring is what wins games. He botched a snap every game this season and was lucky we covered the ball all 3 times. He hasn't been flawless what so ever. It's a false narrative, he potentially could of turned the ball over 3 times this season just in fumbled snaps. Next time he might not be so lucky with the game on the line.

I get the feeling I’ve seen this movie before with Kenny Pickett’s Starting QB competition. Except it wasn’t. Mason won arguably and the team made Kenny a starter and we found out how bad he is. This feels like a manipulation to keep Fields in and Russ out. Mason was playing better at the end of last year than fields does now. Russ doesn’t look happy and he is hesitant to jump in front of the camera and let us know how he feels. This has been going on for how many weeks?

Tomlin never had a quarterback issue until Ben retired. (He did have an issue but recognized it too late). His track record has not been good with quarterbacks since Ben's retirement. Go with Fields. Who knows? It's a small sample size, but two games in we are 2 and 0. Maybe Fields has gotten a glimmer of how it is to play smarter. Couple this with his immense physical gifts, we should see where Fields can take the team.
