just fyi, this video was recorded on my laptop mic, instead of my usual one.... so be prepared 😂
This is "Super Mario Tropical Freeze". It is a New Super Mario Bros. U ROM Hack inspired by Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. I couldn't get some of the textures to load, because it's kinda old. However, I just played DKTF for the first time, so it had me in the mood for this anyway regardless of textures or whatever :D

My evidence: 1) the enemy is inspired by a dog from Miyamoto's childhood 2) they bark 3) in Super Mario Galaxy they come out of dog houses 4) in some Paper Mario games, you can give them a bone 5) whenever we see them eat, they are eating from a bowl 6) they are often used to represent dogs (the three headed dog from HELL in Super Paper Mario) but besides Chain Chomps we also just have Polterpup and Poochie (the former being a ghost dog)

It's okay that you didn't get all the star coins. I've also had a hard time finding all the star coins in the new super Mario games. I only just recently got all the star coins on New Super Mario Bros DS in 2023, and that games 100% award is probably the least interesting out of all of them.
