The one thing that had a particularly strong impression on me was how Barcelona made possession itself entertaining. I recall in some games they would have 75% possession under pressure, and the fans would start cheering every short pass as the opponents ran in circles to no avail. And then just as they start to slow down from exhaustion, Xavi Iniesta or Busquets spots a gap; suddenly Messi is 1v1 with the keeper and that's it. It was the purest, most enjoyable form of football I've ever watched.

What I'd like to add is that Guardiola also had the ability to make superstars like Xavi and Messi collaborate very well, without the egoism so typical of many great players (e.g. Ibrahimovic). Superstars playing together like clockwork. That is a rare quality in soccer coaches.
