Expresso the ostrich has never reached the stature of Rambi, Squawks, or Enguarde in the menagerie of Animal Buddies in the Donkey Kong series. But he's come close. And despite being mostly known for the original Donkey Kong Country, he's had one of the more diverse and storied careers out of not just the Buddies, but all DK characters! The Kongversation explores the adventures of Expresso: the journey into the clouds of Donkey Kong Land, participating in underground Kremling ostrich racing, and that time he wound up in the Banjo-Kazooie series!

I liked Expresso for being the fastest animal buddy in the original game. I also liked being able to glide above enemies, and make their efforts look pathetic! Too much fun

I always thought Papa Laz was a reference to Papa Lazarou, the evil, blackface wearing, carnival-leading, kidnapper who turns women into the animals in his circus, from the BBC TV show, The League of Gentlemen, which was popular in the early 2000s.
