In this full-length interview, legendary comedian DL Hughley talks about the pride that he felt when his hometown hosted this year's Super Bowl. Chapelle is from one of the most heavily gentrified cities in the country which was also a murder capital in the 80’s and 90’s. The disparities between the poor and upper middle class/wealthy are mind boggling along with the fact that “Chocolate City” is now caramel at best. With that said, Chapelle was advocating for more affordable housing units to be built in the particular development being discussed and when plans came out that did not have what he considered a sufficient amount of affordable housing he threw a fit. Like DL stated several time during this interview, context matters.

This was an amazing interview. I can honestly say that I haven’t committed to watching much of this channel or any other channel before and I am really glad that I did and subscribed. One thing also I haven’t known too much about DL and the work that he has done, but his intelligence is amazing. I could sit and listen to his logic all day. He is very very educated and it shows. One thing that stood out to me was what his mom said to him, “you can do whatever you want, as long as your door is open”. I love that dearly. It’s amazing.

If someone does something and keeps getting away with it, it means what they did is OK. If a parent says they don't allow their child to smoke, but never punishes their child after they've caught them smoking countless times, it means you think it's OK. The law is 100% irrelevant if you don't uphold it. Therefore, DL is correct in saying the "justice" system thinks cops killing children is OK.

There is no timeframe in comedic timing. It depends on the joke and its delivery (also the comedian). Chappelle can tell a long, long story and keep you on the edge waiting for the punch line. I love it! He makes you think. DL does the same.
