As a 30 year old, I spent a large amount of my childhood playing this game. I always thought “sir fuzzy logic” was the toughest boss of all, and Dr. R was surprisingly easy. With that being said, I’ve never beaten them all on one try. Furthest I’ve been able to get was stage 10

I don't think that's correct Yeehaws happen when the enemy gets a double combo (& the pitch gets higher the more combos they make in a row) Yippies are basically yeehaws but for the protagonist instead. I think the yippies were in the original Puyo Puyo, to reference said game, whereas the Yeehaws are referencing how these robots & Dr. Robotnik himself take on their western facades, rather than how they look in other regions. There aren't really "sudden deaths" in Mean Bean Machine, however there can be certain deaths if an opponent is good enough!

Just realised that in this game, a skilled player can comfortably do an 8 chain on hardest in levels 2 to 6, but the RNG usually prevents you from doing a 9+ chain in all levels except level 1. It either releases only 4 colors until when it is 1 or 2 moves too late, either the AI yells a double "yeehaw" when your initially lucky RNG would normally let you do a 9 or 10 chain (so you are forced to set your incomplete 8 chain or the opponent wins), or the RNG gives you the 5th color in time, but ONLY if your chain is going to be cut before the 8th combo because of wrong placement, than normally be a 9+ chain. It's that the game makes it deliberately harder to reach a higher score, since after the 9th chain, it's 40K points per combo. Doing a 9+ chain after level 7 on hardest mode is nearly impossible, even for expert players.

I’m 36, I played this game non stop as a kid. As well as Sonic PinBall, Jammit and college Hoops. My brother is 7 yrs older than me. My style on this game came from a mix of his and coconuts (the monkey robot). I won the game all the time. Played it even through high school. I still have it but am missing some pieces to my sega genesis. I’m going to order new controllers though and get back after it. As this has re inspired me. This guy is brilliant

Found people going Hardest with just single yippee combos... maybe a double yippee if they messed it up enough and got lucky later on. Disappointment. You gotta at least go for the quad-yippee... but it seems this person went as far as bloody possible with them. Nice.
