i look forward to these reviews for book news every week so I'm always bummed when spoilers start immediately, but your guys' enthusiasm is so infectious that i went ahead and got ahold of the first malazan at my local used book store, cant wait to get caught up!

35:00 This scene with the family absolutely broke me. SE has a talent for giving so much depth to characters who are on the page for such a short time.

I think it's super interesting this entire video only has one or two mentions of any element from the first 4 books in the series. Toc shows up, of course, and you mentioned Karsa, but it's incredible how far this series is beyond where it started. It's not just that the plot and characters are so far beyond those first books, but your thoughts as well. 7 books in, and you still don't have a solid sense of where this is all going (some vague 'war of the gods' is the best guess so far), yet the conversation hardly ever turns to stuff that happened in what is nearly the first half of the series. Yet, it's also clear that what happened before is important to what is happening now, and those first four books were absolutely setting the stage for what you're reading, and what is to come.

Reapers gale definitely has some of the best epigraphs in the series

Clip as a disrespectful TikTok influencer has me dying LMAO. Silchas Ruin can stand toe to toe with the world's greatest swordsmen, but can he withstand being called cringe by a youth?

I'm a book and a half ahead of my re-read and considering the following events, I already got kinda lost with your review here, hahaha, lol. 😅 But about Clip and Redmask bada~~ness, would love to hear your thoughts on them once the dust of this book is settled. For Clip the next book. But Bruthen Trana is >>>

Safe travels my friends. I received a notification from Broken Binding that my Malazan books will not be shipped until early 2025. There was an issue with the page thickness and the type from one side was visible on the other side. Their attention to quality gives me a good feeling that these books will be amazing.

Back-round to those "singing swords" to be found in Kharkanas trilogy they are called Hust swords of the Hust legion.
