There's an amazing solo acoustic guitar version of this track by the incomparable Kelly Valleau, he plays bass, rhythm, vocal melody, guitar solo, and the piano breaks...it is spectacular and really captures Billy Preston's groove, not easy on piano, less so on one guitar.

The single version of Get Back was recorded in the studio. The only tracks used on record from the roof concert were I’ve Got A Feeling, Dig A Pony with the first line ‘All I Want Is You’ edited out and One After 909. These 3 were on the Let It Be album. The version of Get Back on the Let It Be album is the studio version with studio talk at the start and the applause from the end of the roof concert edited on to make it seem like a live performance.

Here after watching The Beatles Get Back series. Billy Preston deserves the love for what he did for these sessions. But how about Ringo's drumming? He wasn't just keeping 4/4 time for the greatest song writing duo in history. That drum lick is killer. The way Paul builds the bass line from basically two notes picked rather earnestly and gradually adds the funk as the song goes on.

Macca gets such similar tone from the Hofner vs. the Rickenbacker I almost can't tell the difference between when he uses one vs. the other. John is out of tune with his harmonies here. And yet, somehow, it still works. Those two were a perfect match.

Fantastic lead guitar by Lennon. His light, funky touch is perfect for this bouncy rocker. You can hear just how good Lennon's guitar skills were in the isolation offered by this site. He's spot-on all the way through this piece. McCartney was inspired that day when he gave the lead to John, although he did so when Harrison quit the band for several days during the Let It Be sessions. Harrison's rhythm work is feathery and crisp, a perfect balance to Lennon's funky licks and solo. Ringo again shows his brilliant rock drumming with the galloping snare figure, which gives "Get Back" its strong legs and light feet. The Beatles really a great team of ensemble players.

Well said. The precision and tastiness of Ringo's drums is a feature of all these deconstructions. Yes, probably none of them were virtuoso players as such but together they were amazing making the very most of their musicality.
