I love Gundam but as soon as I saw they were making the card game My Heart sank. I'll probably grab some starter decks to keep as a board game to play with friends but I don't see how they can support so many tcgs without them cannibalizing each other.

The League and Gundam games are the ones I'm looking at the most. I don't even know that much about the Gundam IP, but the game mechanics look fun. The League game though sounds like they'll be really heavily investing some prize money into the tournament scene and it would be cool to win some stuff when most games just do travel and prize cards.

Excited for the Gundam Card game but I've been skeptical before of Bandai card games and how quickly an entire deck/archetype can be powercrept but One Piece seems to have really good reception recently so im willing to give it another go.

I just got into the new Star Wars Unlimited game. Super diverse meta and has a great local scene. A friend hosted a "Learn to play" event at my LGS and it jump started a weekly playgroup.

SWU is a great game, and I went all-in. So no other new TCG for me. I'm also planning to host a 'Learn to play' at our LGS, hoping to increase the number of players in my area.

Happy New Year! Looks like another awesome year for TCGs. I think the new entrants will struggle to shift market share away from existing games, unless they can pull in a bunch of people who never previously played TCGs. Still, it's great for players and collectors to have so much variety👍

Bo Jackson Battle arena has sports stars, autos, packs are designed for breakers, and is a tcg. Has a passionate following but feels like very few people in the tcg or sports card communities are aware of it. The gameplay is fairly simple and the packs are addictive to open.

The 4 main type of pack boxes(blaster, booster, hobby, and jumbo. Also some starters with decks. Prices on the alpha pack boxes have doubled in weeks and the trajectory looks high.

LoL is gonna be huge. Really enjoyed opening Altered, haven’t had any more time or money to invest more into trying it. Was meh on Pokémon until I opened my first 10 packs at a time and hit a Mewtwo that had a whole story animation behind the card when you pull it. Been achievement hunting solo and collecting packs.

I've been super stoked about Sorcery: Contested Realm rn. Absolutely amazing game and the cards are beautiful

I really think altered will be doa this year. They have yet to fulfill several promises. The market place and print to demand. I would like it to succeed in its own way but the time it has taken has made the player base around me dwindle

Yeah, the coming set is definitely a make or break moment for the game. The gameplay is good, but there’s definitely problems with the production

@@andrewostman3135 bingo, if they fulfill the promises that they made in Kickstarter with those two systems I think the game could cause a foundational shift in the industry. If not, then it's DOA.

It's exactly the same around here in South France. The tournaments were full every weekend for the first few month and now we barely have the 4 players required for any event. It's sad cause the game is actually amazing and not that expensive, to the point it became the main game of my playgroup, but the unfulfilled promises, the lack of balance and the terrible communty management really hit hard on the global hype.

I am honestly looking forward to the Gundam tcg, but never heard of Godzilla until now so I know friends who will want to get into that as well. As for Bandai, I think what they are doing with all their card games is the way to go. Keep all the IP's separate from one another. Let them live in their own rule set rather than throwing them together into some fortnight train wreck.

I get meta zoo vibes from Altered. Seems like a scam and if not it doesn't seem like it can last. Out of these league seems like it would have the best chance to last solely on IP. I'm most excited for Sorcery and FaB

8:20 I couldn't disagree more strongly, I think there's a ton of bloat in the app in the form of unnecessary animations and things to click on (ie. when you open a pack you have to swipe up to send them to your card collection, and then the game says something dumb about the number of cards you've collected so far like "the number 151 brings to mind a certain pokemon......" etc. etc. before you can return to the main menu and open another pack). It feels like I'm spending more time interacting with bloat and pointless animations/load screens than playing the game - which is a trend I hope does not get copied by other digital card games

Gundam is the only game that will survive pocket tcg dose not count as it is digital only the others will fail godzilla will follow the same path my hero did alter will be popular for 1-2 years then die project k will suffer from lack of supply and be to popular to survive as devs will fail to keep up and have proper support
