The Austrian dj made my day !!! You're not in a house music nightclub... What was he thinking about ? Not even scratch for 1 sec... Or he made a joke/stupid challenge with his friends...

The best DJ of this competition was Roman Zerano from Austria... Pity that he not even had time to finish a simple mix that was still off-sync...unbelievable...pure genius! 🤣

Why Panasonic stopped this legendary iconic timeless turntable..... I am very upset.....
@showmesomelove33535 ай бұрын
It's not because of Traktor or virtual djing. In fact, Traktor and serato dj are the reason why they started to reproduce the Technics turntables. The real reason is that we over produce things....always! Technics turntables last forever. So what are they going to do when everyone already has 2 of them? And they got a warehouse full of brand new turntables that they can't sell. Rather than lower the price to sell them. They stop production, take the money, and run. Especially when you sell out to branding and licensing with corps like Panasonic. They for sure are going to pull the plug. We do the same with cellphones today. And we fall for it every year. If we stop buying a new iPhone every year....the price will either drop drastically, or they'll stop making new phones every 6 months. Same for cars, too. We humans must have the newest thing out today. Just to look cool? Or bragging rights. Because of that we pay more and more money every time. But if we stop buying shit.... Prices will either drop or they'll stop over producing. They would rather ruin the new products and throw them in the trash than drop the prices to sell. They do it all the time at Walmarts, targets, etc.

@killthepixelnow i couldn't agree more, part of the dj culture is not only changing records during the set but also spending hours in record stores digging in crates looking for that ultimate break or sample, this new digital stuff takes away some of the need of skill hence making it slightly easier

I've never seen any record skips in these DMC competitions. How the fuck is that possible? Are these 1200's set up differently for competition?
@HypnoticHollywood10 жыл бұрын
What needles do you use? There are some better than others for different kind of dj applications.
@redirishmanxlt10 жыл бұрын
I've been using a couple Vestax PDX-2000mk2's, but I needed some money and sold them. About 5 years ago (while I was still using the Vestax decks) I bought a Tech 1200mk2 off this guy because he gave me a great deal. So now I only have the 1200mk2 with an M447 cart, but if seems super sensitive and it skips a lot. The spindle is tight, and the gimbal system seems to be tight, so why is this thing skipping so much?
@h3doni5t10 жыл бұрын
Usually yes, in competitions they will use a spherical needle (usually a Shure M447, Ortofon DJ or Scratch or a Stanton 520), with the tonearm weighted for extra downforce and the anti skate control turned off. Should eliminate skipping but it does put extra pressure on the vinyl and the needle.
@redirishmanxlt10 жыл бұрын
Mark Tolley Thanks for the input man, I really appreciate it. I've been scratching on a Vestax PDX-2000 pro that I got several years ago, but I recently bought a Tech 1200 in good condition at reasonable price. So many people love these turntables, I've even seen comments where people say there isn't any other turntable worth using. So out of curiosity, I bought a Tech just to see what all the fuss was about. The build quality definitely seems better than my Vestax, but aside from that it seemed like the 1200 was a pain in ass to scratch with. So I started watching videos about how people set them up for beat juggling and scratching and I've managed to get mine reasonably skip prof, but it still doesn't come close to my Vestax. I don't regret buying it though because it forces me to become much smoother when scratching. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to it's "personality".
@HypnoticHollywood10 жыл бұрын
redirishmanxlt Before being discontinued, the Technic 1200 was the industry standard which all other turntable companies have tried to emulate, with a couple of brands including Vestax having success with quality decks. As far as scratching, they're the best turntable for the job. There's a reason the Technic 1200 has been the turntable of choice in the world dj championships (DMC) for the past 30 years and running.. I'm not sure why yours is acting that way, but here are some tips to try (how I set my turntables up) : Set the height adjustment of the back of the tone arm at 2, the anti skate at 0, and turn the stylis on the cartridge at a 20 degree angle, going to the left side (your right side if your standing in front of the deck). You will have to loosen, then re-tighten the screws on the cartridge in order to adjust the stylis. That should help a lot..give it a try, good luck. Mysterio 'The 1st Artificially Evolved Man'
